So, I have a Scorpion EXO-900 helmet in "OMG you're blinding small children" green and have been trying to find a jacket that matches. Safety is the number one concern, but being colour coordinated is great as well. Problem is, most jackets I've found have a waterproof liner and are not waterproof on the outside. Any recommendations?

Aerostich. Darien, Darien Light or Roadcrafter.

I have the Darien Light in high viz, and I think it's awesome. Heck, it's the best piece of gear I own.

I'm sure others will chime in with thoughts on this, too. I'm guessing that Olympia makes something along these lines, though I doubt that it's as versatile or well-made as the Stich.

Have you looked at the Hi-Viz Olympia AST? I have the Olympia Phantom 1 piece suit in the blinding hi-viz and it's fairly waterproof. After about 40 minutes in a heavy rain on the freeway, on a naked bike, it soaked through in a couple of places, but it wasn't terrible.

I haven't tried any additional waterproofing washes, sprays, etc.

The problem with waterproofness on the outside is that it fails too easily once you bush up against anything. Regarding safety - check out airbag jackets!

+ 1 on the Olympia AST. It has a waterproof outer combined with a removable waterproof inner liner. I have not had the "pleasure" of testing it in an all day rain ride, but the garden hose test didn't reveal any leaks.

11 years my Darien is still waterproof.

I replaced only because I wanted a Higher Viz jacket.

    I got a Yellow Darien.

    it's waterproof.

+2 on the Olympia AST. Well made, very functional good looking and reasonably priced. Not cheap mind you, but not bend over and grab your ankels expensive.

I have been very pleased with the water-resistance of my Olympia AST jacket and Phantom suit, both in high-viz neon green. Living here in dark, cloudy and wet Seattle, high-viz and water-resistance was a priority for me. The Olympias have been more water-resistant than my high-viz Tourmaster transitions jacket.
