Just exploring the one route I had not yet explored in the Sierras.. Kaiser Pass. Started by riding up to Shaver Lake on Friday. Rode right down onto the sand by the boat launch: Saturday morning, we wake up and it's... chilly! Luckily it warmed up 10 degrees within a few miles. I found a combination of paved and gravel roads that took us down to Pine Flat .. then took Blackrock Rd up to Wishon Reservoir. From Wishon we went up to the White Bark Vista at 9500'! We continued down Kaiser Pass all the way to Edison Lake. I must admit the road quality was wearing on me. The lake was so low we were able to ride out to areas that would normally be way underwater. As for Sunday, I had originally planned on riding Mammoth Pool Rd/Beasore Rd/etc... but then I learned that even though Yosemite was closed, they were still allowing through traffic... so we went for it! I try to avoid the National parks generally because of all the traffic & speed enforcement... didn't have to deal with either today!
