.. in fact it's only a reason to show you some old belgian bikes.

    Who made this ?

    M22 Cross
    Number of cylinders : 1
    Cubic capacity : 250
    Stroke : 58 mm
Internal diameter of cylinder : 52 mm
    Start of production : 1954
    End of production : 1960

My eldest brother learned to ride on one of these whe he was an MP in the belgian Navy (They were still in use in 1968)

    A few hints:
    - It's belgian
    - they no longer make bikes
    - they also made cars, trucks and trolleybusses
    - now, they only make guns (and weapons systems)
    - they own Browning and Winchester
    - they are very well known for customizing hunting weapons

A few other bikes they made:

    Their very first:

    1902
    Number of cylinders : 1
    Cubic capacity : 133
    Stroke : 68 mm
Internal diameter of cylinder : 50 mm
It concerns a "motorised bicycle" (belt-driven on a wooden pulley at the rear)

    .
    1924 - M5O
    Number of cylinders : 4
    Cubic capacity : 748
    Stroke : 88 mm
Internal diameter of cylinder : 52 mm
    Start of production : 1923
    End of production : 1926
    Quantities produced : 1,208

    .
Looks as if this next one has a boxer engine:
    M12
    Number of cylinders : 2
    Cubic capacity : 1000
    Stroke : 78 mm
Internal diameter of cylinder : 90 mm
    Start of production : 1937
    End of production : 1940
    Quantities produced : 1,072

A complete overview of what they made (bikes, cars, etc) can be found HERE
