thanks for the explanation Motomike. Searched some videos like you suggested and now I understand. I think many of us Easterners don't think you have much tight stuff out there. I see that Cactus, elevation changes and big rocks create their own kind of singletrack knarliness, and therefore the preference for lighter bikes.

You know whats funny, I started back racing after 17 years on a 525, went to a 505 then a 300. I blew the 300 up a couple of races ago, went back to the 525 and I'm having a blast! It's heavy, but it still works really good in the tight stuff. In this last enduro they had a sandy/rocky downhill that was so steep, when I was bulldogging (I fell towards the top, no way was I going to try and get back on) with both wheels locked and my heels dug in, I was still heading for the bottom whether I liked it or not.

you blew up the 300?! :huh that sucks.....and someday you have to let me try out the 525 - Id be happy to trade you off for the BRP for a bit.

    :evil

....and Mike no, she does not have any sisters. However, I HIGHLY recommend a Asian women over just about any other.

    :nod

hell if you go visit Vietnam, you might not have a choice! One might come home with you whether you like it or not!

It still ran, but it's not good. It's in pieces on the bench.

Maybe I'll see if I can get my girlfreind to squint.

Ive been running and trying to get back in shape like a madman - ran four miles three times this week and woke up sick as a dog on Friday. Dont know what the hell happened but im going to try and stick with the excercise this next week.
I also realized that my arm strength campaign isnt hacking and I realized it while playing guitar last week and my hands were starting to hurt just plaing that dammed guitar. Im going to need to step up my hand/arm strenghtening campaign.
my next race is next weekend - Mike - Ill see ya out there!

Are you riding Sat or Sun? It's a two day race, Dez Scrambles on Saturday and Hare & Hound on Sunday.

I've been a sick dog all weekend myself, hope it clears up in the next day or two.

Was out tying ribbon this weekend for the Rovers. Nice technical 2nd loop w/ nothing stupid. Ride smart and stay on the ribbon. It is a little "different" at times.

I have been sick for a few days as well which has been keeping me off the training..... I guess its better to be healthy and not in shape than to be sick as a dog and not really in shape, right?

Im just going to race on sunday.... I couldnt handle racing two days in a row. Besides, the last time I drove out the day of the race I had hardly enough time to go to the bathroom before the race!

I still need to go find some hardware for the bike.... bolts keep falling out!!

I wont be venturing out on the second loop - I just dont get a chance to ride enough to have the endurance to do two loops. I dont have the experience yet, either.

Cant wait though!! its been over a month since my last race!
