My old man bought a new Kawasaki KLR 650 for an upcomming ride we plan to take to Cabo. After reasearching the bike throughly we settled on which mods to do. The "doohicky," being principle of these. Anyway, the reasearch led me to Eagle Mike, and after an hour in his shop, I had a bundle of parts, and was armed with some knowledge. In the span of an afternoon, we completed the doohicky(stock was intact after 500miles), EPA removal(this sytem left us stranded), kickstand/clutch switch removals(I hate these), fuel screw drill out and adjust(came less than 1 turn out stock?!), replacement of subfrqame and carb bolts(ones on the carb were VERY soft).

Thanks Milke, nice doing business with ya I appreciate the help. I give doing business with Mike my highest reccomendation.

Thanks for all the good words! There's a bunch of good people in the KLR community - it's my pleasure to contribute.

jbrown - bet the bike runs a little better now with the idle mixture fixed, right? (nice to meet you!)

    all the best,

    Mike

I think it do Mike. Pulls a taller gear a little better. I must say, the KLR is crude, possibly ugly, but, kinda grows on ya.

Just an observation; the chronological gap between posts # 8 and # 9 (approaching six years) seems somewhat puzzling . . .

Just wondering how (and sometimes, why) seemingly moribund threads become resurrected, as this one was . . .

Maybe the SEARCH archive reaches back that far into the dim past, to ". . . those thrilling days of yesteryear. From out of the past come the thundering hoofbeats . . ." . . .

Eagle Mike has the best customer service you will ever receive. Period. If Eagle Mike makes it, I'll choose his parts over anything else for my KLR.

I'm fortunate to be in San Diego close to Mike's shop. He answers the phone and provides solid advice on parts and maintenance.

My KLR sports 3 of his products and I plan to get a couple more soon (fork brace and trail jack).

    I'm a fan.
