I'm trying to remove the choke cable from the carburetor of my '06 KLR, and I can't seem to separate the cable from the "plunger assembly" (the piece that screws the cable into the carb, along with the plunger and spring). I need to remove the housing in order to install it on the new cable, but I just can't get the thing off. Any ideas? I tried looking everywhere, but since I can't find any articles it must be an extremely simple procedure.

Try slacking the adjuster all the way off, extend the plunger as far as possible, and pull the spring back from the plunger. You should be able to slip the cable out sideways.

Worked perfectly, thanks! I knew it wasn't as complicated as I was making it :1drink
