Here is a little teaser of a bike we are building. More pictures in December 2014.
Great googley moogley.
I don't like all those vulture businesses that are scavenging historic airheads to harvest money from ignorant people who just want a cool bike for a moment.
Even good craftsmanship does not excuse for this.
Care to explain how you think the nice folks at Boxer Metal fit into this?
Ya. I don't get it. If you look at my over 3000 posts you will see that my time spent here is helping others. Obviously your parents didn't teach you any manners or couth.
That thing is fucking beautiful. I say if there is a market and people want it, do it. If you don't like it, take your money and go buy all the historic airheads and horde them in your barn.
Amen! This is not a bike that is for sale. It is a custom build for a very good friend of mine:)
...and Thank You.
Love the weight saving strategy on that center nut.
Funny...it's not like I don't like ignorant people, but I do seem to feel better when they are not around.
Nice!!! That is one sweet setup for a faring. Got a profile pic?
If you don't know the builder, don't know the parts sources, and don't post up here that much based on your post count, then your opinion and comments are out of line. To turn a paraphrase of your own closing sentence, "Even purism is no excuse for comments like that".
Bottom line - its an airhead being recreated and kept on the road and in the bloodline of these machines. Regardless of personal beliefs about keeping models "pure" to their origins, your comments are off the mark and were better left unposted.
I love you
Wish I had gone with this approach, haha
Here are the last of the pictures I can show until the end of the year.
and my wife welding the fairing bracket.
I hope the wait is worth it. We are pretty darn excited about it.
gonna be famous, aren't you ?
Hey!!!!! Charles Bukowski doesn't like you paraphrasing my sig line!
What the hell!???!!! I drooled first.....
Yer wife is bad ass....
Yep, that's my line.
Love 'em straight, the way they came outa the box, especially after nearly 40 years.
Love this professional approach to building a new box.
Beautifully and creatively crafted.
That's original in my book too !
Sat here for 5 minutes trying to think of a clever cliche, didn't work.
There's not even a suitable emoticon evoking the skill employed.
Kinda lame, but.
Fine work sir.
