What a fantastic ride report! I've spent the evening with the TV turned off and have been totally consumed by this. It's fascinating that the ancestors of the red heads are still there.

Mullet City is to the south of Tirana for the reference of future travelers but who knows what the Garmin might have been telling you. On many occasions my Garmin just decided to send me round in a loop for no apparent reason. :norton

I don't want to be picky but those Germans are flying the Austrian flag and have Austrian license plates :evil

    Thanks

I stand corrected...in fact not only were the tourists Austrian, but so was the man (born Schickelgruber but subsequently changed his name to A Hitler) who was being praised in front of them!!

And thanks for the Mullet City sign...I still regret not turning around to take a photo :D

Really enjoyed the RR, did a bit of this myself this year, at a bit more of a gallop than yourself, liked your approach better.

    Thanks for posting, great trip.:clap

Haven't read all your report yet, but really enjoying it so far.:clap

Was however a little upset with this picture and felt quite compelled to comment:

I wish the person in right of the pic (is that you?) had stood one step more to his right. He could have then obscured that Yellow Beemer and allowed me to see my fav bike of all time, the red Honda XL1000V Varadero behind you!:lol3

Looking forward to reading the rest of the report.

    Hi Turk
Glad you found it interesting. Afraid I have had major computer issues since then and tracklogs are looking sparse. However I will dig around and see if I can find anything. Petcul (on UKGSer.com) sent me some information when I was planning and may also be able to help.

Feel free to drop me a PM if I can help on any specifics.

    best regards

    Simon

Thanks for the feedback, Oldone. I am hankering for another long ride but work gets in the way. (I see you have that bit sorted out OK:D )

In 10 days time I take my Harley to Normandy, France for a party weekend. Hoping for dry weather in which case it will be fun!

Next week I leave the Olympic City (London) on the Harley with my 17 year old son.

We are taking the boat to Denmark (Esbjerg) and then another one to Norway (Kristiansand)...we have 2 1/2 weeks to travel around, enjoy the scenery and each other's company. No fixed itinerary so we will choose each day the most interesting road. Hoping to pack a tent.

I will post photos when we return

I just read the UK to Jordan write up, inspiring, humorous and well written, thank you for sharing.

On a side note, one can now request from the Israeli border authorities an external visa and thus not get any Israeli stamps in your passports.

    Thank you again, inspiring.

Ride safe and enjoy your "to Norway" trip!

Now got my planning hat on, for a trip East next April. Have officially resigned my job effective 31 March, and planning to take a gap year or two or three.

    Happy days ;-)
