    Greetings FFs around the world.:thumb
The following is from 2 days of riding in the Ace Basin and Edisto Island South Carolina USA. March 17 and 18 of 2010.
Sorry about the gloomy shots in the Ace Basin. It was 40F, overcast and threatening rain all day.
The more sunny shots are from Edisto.

What a beautiful part of the country! My girlfriend grew up in Beaufort, but we don't get down there enough.

Nice bike too! I've got the yellow version. :D

My previous ride was a black F650 single. I love seeing those bikes out and about, thanks.

Great photos! I camp and ride often in the western part of SC, but I have neglected the rest of the state , time to get my butt in gear.

I love the Low Country. I wasn't planning on doing a ride report,(yes I take this many pictures of my bike just for fun), but then I thought I caught the Low Country pretty well. I thought ADVrs would enjoy them.

It's been a great bike for me.

Thanks. My pleasure. More pictures to come.

I love the way it looks in pictures:D I'm obsessed.:deal

It's wonderful, but you have to pick your time well for it to be paradise. See below.

AIN'T that a bitch?... Every time I get down there I think WoW this is paradise...Then those FU%@ING biting gnats are on you. I'm gonna take a wag and say that any time the temps rise above 50 the lil shits are out. There are bugs in the paradise ointment.:cry Deet works, BUT you get sick of spreading that poison on your skin.

Thanks, I'm glad you're enjoying them.

There will be more pix after work today.
There will be gators, bottle nosed Dolphins, and a beach with palm, oak and cedar trees extending into the ocean.

    Thanks SauS and Thorne.

The long low black lines in the water just to the right of my bike are alligators. Trust me. I didn't know they were there until I scared them under by riding away.

note the helmet on the seat....The gnats were biting the crap out of me here:

And that's pretty much the end of my day in the Ace Basin.
    Now on to Edisto Island.

What a beautiful place. I went to boot camp at Parris Island. I've been to many, many military bases around the world after that. Parris Island by far was the most beautiful. I routinely paid a hefty price for looking around too much while on PT runs out on the Island during boot camp.

Hey Rover, First off....Thank you for your service. :deal:thumb

I've been through Parris. It is Low Country, spectacular and really close to the place I'm showing here.

+1. I was there April 4 - July 5, 1972. I survived on the well known Alcoholics Anonymous motto ... "One day at a time." :patch

And I can't tell you the number of push-ups and other extra PT I did for getting caught looking around! :lol3

Two years ago in May my wife and I took a trip to Savannah, GA and then up to Hilton Head.

After that she wanted to go up to PI so I took her. The security is tight and no-nonsense but once you are in there is a lot to see. The museum was particularly good. And we saw a number of recruit platoons doing anything from close order drill to snapping in at the range.

While we were making the drive from the rifle range and 3rd BN back over to main side we passed a platoon of recruits doing bends & muthers in a sand pit. About 50 of them, DI's screaming and barking in their faces.

Astounded, she asked "What in the world are they doing?"

To which I replied, "That is part of the genius of this place -- the torture is designed to look like training!" :wings

It is indeed one of the most sceanic of the Marine Bases -- but much better when viewed from this side of life! :thumb

With apologies for the nostalgic side track...
