Just wanted to show everyone Maui's summit at Mt. Haleakala.. But first had to talk about "change" and it's constant unwavering truth on a hot but superficial level.. Hope you enjoy ; )

Looks lush and green.... and a good day on 2 wheels, despite the colder temps at altitude :thumb

Nice story enjoyed it, I grew up on Oahu. 1961 drove up to Haleakala a few days after getting married, it was dark cold and overcast. I took a friend along for surfing while my wife sat on the beach:lol3 we had a week on Honolua bay 6 to 8 ft no more than 6 people out. it was a great honnymoon:wink:

In 1980 my wife and I made our first trip to Maui. We rented a 1980 Honda CB750F from a, now long defunct, rental place in Lahaina. We rode around the island for five days and put 500 miles on the bike. Went to Hana and spent a coiple days there staying at a nice ranch. Went to the top of Haleakala (cold at the top all right), etc. That was the first trip to Maui of maybe eight trips spanning almost 30 years. We often stayed in Kihei, and it has certainly grown over the years.

Entertaining stuff ...I would distract myself if I talked that much while I rode.

Very good day, I always feel rejuvenated after a Haleakala trek, even if in a car..

Oh, Honolua 6-8 + that amount of people out sounds like heaven.. on rare occasions that still can happen but the waves have to be twice the size..

Wow, great memories! I have a 1976' Kawasaki KZ 900 that's going to be on the road any day now.. Every time I work on the bike or am near it, I will think at least once..., who has been on you?, where have you been?.. I wish the bike could talk.. She might tell me a story such as yours..

    Thanks for sharing : )
