I have been working like crazy the past month and a half putting the bike together, still a long way to go but is starting to look like a rally bike. I hope to update the blog in the next few days as there has been good progress and i've taken a bunch of pictures along the way. Until then here is a little teaser.

I took the bike out for a little shake down on Sunday to check fitment and clearances of all the fabbed up bits. Pretty much anything "rally" related for the bike had to be modified or built from scratch. Below you can see the bike with the extra gas tanks, nav tower and skid plate. After hitting a sand woops field, technical trails with jumps and some high speed runs down dirt roads everything seemed to checkout ok.

Look at it this way, will make navigation easy since the route should be well burned in by the 187 bikes in front!

I suspect after stage 1 you will be up the start order a good bit. Ride smooth and safe, we want to see that picture of you getting the finishers medal in Lima :clap

I think that the higher numbers on the list are based on last year's results (Coma, Despres et al)... as you go down the list, past participation and early registration come into play...

but it's no big deal, the numbers only apply to the prologue (1st day starting order), after that you start at what you finished the previous day

The G450 tank fits over the airbox of the Husky and that is about it. There is quite a bit of modifying and fabrication of bracketry to make it work. I'll post up the details with pictures later. According to the Safari Tank people they will be making a tank for the Husky just not in time for the Dakar. I'd wait for the purpose built tank if i had the option.
