Been poking around the Aerostich site looking at the AD-1 Light pants. Unlike the regular AD-1s, the Light is made in the US and I assume the fit and the cut are similar to the AD-1, which I prefer to my Darien pants.

Anyone bought one yet? Your thoughts?

I tried the AD1 lights in a comparison to the Darien lights. Also tried the regular AD1's. The light version of the AD1 has the same material as the Darien lights and fit the same as the regular AD1. That should give you an idea of them. For me, I went with the Darien light pants, they just fit me better on the bike though I would have liked the cargo pocket.

I broke down and ordered a pair of AD-1 Lights today, patience has never been one of my strong traits. The nice young lady from Duluth said it would take about 5 weeks to get them since they make them to order. She is sending me a pair of regular AD-1s to try on for sizing and to figure out what I would need to have altered. They were running a $5 shipping special and she even said she would put a postage paid shipping label in the box so I could return the regular AD-1 on their dime.

I had the FedEx tracking number about an hour after I got off the phone with her. You gotta love an outfit like Aerostich :clap

    I will report back...ohhh... around mid March, I guess.:eek1

I'll be interested to see how this turns out. I'm looking for a pair of Gore-Tex pants & the AD1s are the only ones I would consider, given the type of bike I ride. I currently have Motoport & either have to put the liner in before riding or get wet. Not so bad in the summer but last week in SoCal wasn't fun.

Well, I ordered the regular AD1s on Wednesday afternoon and they were waiting for me when I got home from a refreshing ride this afternoon (it was 28 degrees when I left this morning). My Darien pants are about 4 years old and they feel much softer than the AD1s but that is expected. The AD1s ride lower in the front which isn't a problem and I like the "articulated" knees better that the straight legs on the Darien. The front pockets have velcro and flaps, the single back pocket has velcro. Both good for keeping stuff from falling out. The two cargo pockets will be useful, one has a vertical waterproof zipper, the other has a fold over flap with velcro. They both should be waterproof during normal rain, they will probably leak a little after a few hours of hard rain.

I measured them while on the bike and will ship them back to Duluth on Monday with the measurements so they can start manufacturing my AD1-Light.

    Only 5 weeks to go.....:clap

The pants came in right when they said they would get here, almost to the day. Couple of day before shipment, I had an email from Aerostich letting me know that the pants were ready to ship and if I wanted to order anything else so they could put it in the box with the pants. I exchanged a few emails with the rep and ended up ordering a couple of small items which were shipped to me without shipping charges :clap. Awesome customer service.

I haven't had a chance to ride in them yet but the fabric feels as strong and thick as my 4-5 year old regular Darien pants. I plan to go for a ride this weekend and will post some pictures of the various features of the AD1 lights.

Please do post up some pics and a report. I'm considering these pants as well if I can get them made with extra length. The Held Torno pants that go with my jacket are just too short, even in the long size.
