Ok , it's about time I learn about suspension. Hi all. I don't get it. I play with the suspension adjustment on my new 650 gs (twin) and I can't see a difference. Maybe because I'm not use to this bike yet but I would like to understand what happens when I play around with both adjustments. Lets say I tighten the front suspension , what should I do with the other adjustment (rear) . What is the direct effect ? THanks for all your help.

You're playing with the preload of the forks and rear spring. Basically they are ride height adjustments. You use them to set your suspension sag. They have a limited range of adjustability, after that you need to install heavier or lighter springs.

Heres a link to some basics. LINK

I think your GS also has rebound adjustment in the rear shock. That basically controlls how quickly the shock extends back from a compression.
