    Hello Adventurer

I have recently purchased a KTM 990 Adventure 2007 and after one season with the bike i am very impressed with it so far. Much power and feels very robust. I have some reflections that i want to ventilate. I have noticed that the electrical charging is a bit high. At idle rew. the charging is ca 15,5 volt, it varies between 14,9-15,7 volt. Anyone experienced something similar? I have no problem with the electrical but the battery was bad when i bought it so i got a new battery from the shop.

I think it runs a bit hot also, the fan kicks in quite fast when i drive slowly, just before the fifth bar lights up on the dash. It has no trouble holding the temperature down then so i ques it is as it should be.
The normal jerkyness with the injection is there but it´s normal from what i have read. One could ask for a better software from Keihin in my opinion but it is probably not that simple.
I would be grateful for some experiences from other owners if we share some of the things i have noticed with the bike.

    Thanks Ola from Sweden.

You can check the stator output voltage ahead of the voltage regulator. If it is good there problem is regulator. If high there, problem is stator.

I would also check all ground connections.

    Good luck

If the bike is OVERcharging, the stator's doing it's job, but the regulator isn't. If you're really seeing voltages over 15vdc (using a quality voltmeter?), better replace the regulator before you toast another battery. Normal charging voltage is between 14 and 14.5
