Live in Denmark and we got zip.
Though a short trip to Sweden will give me most what need.
Australia, in particular West Australia.
I drove down the Canning Stock Route once in October and never saw another person. No big deal you say. 10 days to cover aprox 1000 kms. Hundereds of sand dunes that strech to the horizon in every direction.
If you do it in June/July there can be traffic jams at the base of some dunes it gets that busy, but when it gets hotter far less people go out there.

i'll add to the irony on this side of the pond.
in the US we have an incredible amount of dirt roads and yet do not see some adv bikes that are sold in europe.
+1.... Sweden is really great
I'm not interested if many GS/Adv/etc owners ever get their bikes to the trail. Everyone is free to do whatever he/she wants with its money/bikes.
Glad many won't go offroad, my over civilized mind wouldn't let me get past a stranded big+heavy+bike+possibly+unprepared+rider stuck in a puddle of mud or sand pit without helping getting over it. Think of it i'd be in great shape in no time by lifting those heavy weights... naaaaa...
