To paraphrase Ving Rhames in Pulp Fiction, "I'm pretty fucking far from being the man".
Uhh, I can say that's the correct call. It ain't an Adventure Ride until someone's bike takes a dirt nap. Today it was mine. Twice ...
You didn't fall on my ride.
R.I.P. Marco. Good editorial in trackdaymag.com
I do miss theBMW speedo accuracy. Damn lawyers.
If you like your speedo accurate don't get a V-strom. I don't even look at my speedo anymore, I know what speed I'm at by the tach and gear I'm in, just in case I don't have the GPS with me.
Welp, another awesome day in the woods! Point the map to Danville and get going.
swingset had said he was in. I stopped by his place on my way north to see if he was still home. Check.
These rides are so much fun I can't believe we don't have hundreds of riders show up. Today we had seven, including first-timer Don on his V-Strom.
It was good to see somecallmetim again - been a couple years
alansZ400, z@ch and MeefZah round out the gang
It took Meef about 30 seconds to get us on gravel roads
Nice scenery and lots of backroads to play on
Since I'm slow, the guys did plenty of waitin' today.
Dirt and gravel roads in every direction. Awesome!
It was nice weather. The sun came out and warmed things up a little
Don's Strom must have some special anti-dirt coating or something
A quick break
Tim stops to adjust his shifter
And if you're gonna go ride this area you have to stop in Peggy Sue's for lunch
Among other things, they have pie!
After lunch, some more backroad riding
My bike needed a rest, so it threw me off and layed itself down
Meef took my camera to get a shot of me with the wheel-side down
Tim shows good form
zach? well, there's a smartass in every crowd. He gets Meef and camera a little damp
A great day. Thanks, guys, for waiting on me in the rougher bits
On my way home, I got one more scenery picture before the camera battery died
Next week is Halloween weekend. Time for another jaunt in the woods.
Last week I think I used 98% of my talent. Today I got over a little over 100% ...
Just a reminder if your a Caveman and haven't been on the site for a bit, next weekend is the haunted hooligan. Check the site for the details.
Always enjoy your reports with pictures. Thanks for sharing... everything except for taunting us with pie.
Pics look good, Mike. It was a fun day, thanks for coming.
My editorial review:
1) Quoting from Le Mans: very nice.
2) Quoting from Days of Thunder: very fail.
Geez, I don't know how long it's been since I've seen Tim. Last time we were drinking home brew at a garage day, no wait I've seen the Guzzi, anyway it's been too long. Without the beard and it looks like he's dropped 100 lbs I probably wouldn't know him anyway.
Yeah, but at least it looks like you are smiling under the helmet!
had to fix that......
Man I'm dying here. I NEED a bike capable of riding with you guys.
Oopsie. Memory fail.
Apologies to both ladies.
We had a Guzzi Quota and 2 v-stroms with us, your Uly woulda been fine.
That or there is Swingsets bike, unless it's sold already?
Already sold to a local inmate
