I'm thinking maybe the north shore of New England this fall Via St. Lawrence Seaway then back through NH, Vt, & NY. That or some place south of Virginia but away from all the OBX freaks

The Battle Wagon, riding the coast of Lake Superior, no sand but cool clear water.

Hope the big bike adventure went well without me, after breakfast the wife and I headed east and explored around Zaneyville, had some Chipotle, and wandered home. Sure was beautiful out, saw a lot of bikes out playing hookey today including RedRiderSteve, who we ran into in Newark and a nice dude on a Super Tenere in Dresden who we chatted with.

Pretty weird to be riding around in 68 degree weather, getting hit by bugs, in early March.

Yeah, good ride and I just got home a little bit ago. I'll get some pics and vid up soon. Really nice other than 110 mph wind on the way home (me 70mph and wind 40mph). :lol3

No kidding on the wind. We were on 16 for a short spell and it was wicked, so we jumped off into the side roads where hills and trees took the worst of it.

I didn't ride to work tonight, just didn't feel like getting my head bounced around for an hour before doing my shift.

And now everything changed. While prepping the uly this afternoon, a tranny fluid change revealed these lovely shards of gears

So bikes in the shop now; still under warranty. They'll let me know what they find Friday.

    Options:
Hope for good news Friday?! (only good news would be they couldn't find the metal source. )
    or
Order the Ims Tank for the Yamaha, and drastically chang the route to small roads, dirt/gravel if possible, and skip new Orleans and key west.

Whichever bike goes is going to need a new back tire prior.

I dig this....looks more like a Muskie or shark than a P40 Warhawk, but I still like it.

Hmm, I remember riding home last April in wind like that after the Cabin Fever ride. I had poor KLR WOT all the way home...

It is a long day to an ocean beach... but I've been meaning to try one of Toledo's hot dogs (from that place that Klinger on M*A*S*H always talked about).

    Yep. Saturday?

Sometimes I get a hankering for a fish sandwich from Lone Pine Key... but that is at least a 2 day ride for me!

You can borrow my Strom if you want. It will need a new back tire at some point on your trip but otherwise is tip top. Still under warranty in the event something bad happens. Lemme know.

The 'Zhette and I had a nice time. We had to bug out early due to work, but we managed breakfast and a bit of backroads.

Rick from Utica, met us by happenstance on the ride. I believe his ADV (lurker) name is Windpusher.

I'll be damned, didn't know any Inmates were from my hometown. He looks very familiar to me, I'm sure I've seen him around.
