First off, I miss you guys. Terribly.
No one really rides down here, or at least they don't talk about it. boring. boring. boring.

I rode down to Turner Falls today in the Arbuckle Wilderness. Not bad, not bad at all. Hiked all over the place til my legs hurt and I was soaked in sweat. 103 degrees today in fabulous Oklahoma. So what's a girl to do?

Go swimmin' in the crik, okie style. :D

This week is crap for me, but next week I'd be up for some riding. Might even have a new scoot for it too.

Funny - I've driven past Spearman's since I was high school. Stopped in last week for the first time -

It's hard to mess up eggs, grits and toast - the only problem was they wanted $7.99 for eggs, grits and toast. I want a little more 'atmosphere' for that kind of jack.
I bet that in the '40's and '50's it was a little down & dirty 'truck stop'. Gas, open-face roast beef and gravy special, tire tubes patched in the rear and oil in glass quart jars. It is kinda remote - it feels like an old 'Ohio Blue-Tip's (blue hair) living room now. No condoms anymore.

    Where's Peggy Sue's? In Danville?
I was always looking at the Danville tavern driving through - my thoughts elsewhere.

Swingset - by all means - let me know your schedule next week as it developes.

My tomorrow is shot, I was planning on prerunning a route out of Danville on wednesday or friday. Peggy Sues is in New Castle, near the fork of 229/36.

Here's a link to more pics of where I was today.

I'm still in Oklahoma for now, living out of a hotel room. I'll be here until Sept 14 and then they fly me to Reno. I'll be there until Sept 30 and then they will let us go for a week to move, finally to Texas!

I'll be back in cbus the first week in October so I'll be sure to hit the dinner that Tuesday. :D

LOVE the new job. It will be even better once I get to Texas and out of this frickin' hotel room!
I've been driving down to TX on the weekends to find a place to live. Found a sweet place, so fingers crossed I get it. If so, you've got a Big Bend stopping point deluxe. (60 acres, cabin and a lake.....WANT)

I was warned that the meth heads in the area like to run off with your bike so the 230 has a sweet parking place at night:

If you don't know Peggy Sue's then you don't know dual sport destinations in the area.

USR 36 in New Castle, almost straddling the Knox and Coshocton line.

In Danville, Lulu's is good, if it's back open again. Also, the BBQ joint near the park on th south side of USR62 is good, but their hours are sporadic.

    :rofl

I don't know if I can do that here in Oklahoma....I know I can in Texas! (Scott would love TX, you can shoot someone if they are stealing from your neighbor.)
    :gun1
I do have my trusty shotgun in my room, just in case. I need a scabbard for my 230....

    MYA!!

BTW, your bike stalled today while in the air over a large table, thought it would bump start on impact, it didn't, Hit the face of the step up sideways, bump started then sent me up the face, came down the side of the jump just in time to miss the steel tank used as a tunnel.

You need to come back and tame that bitch down, or at least run it over

You boys missed a good time! We did two great days of riding with only a couple drops of rain Saturday on the way back to the room. It rained overnight which was nice cause it knocked down the dust. It was not nearly as busy as I was lead to believe it would be for a holiday weekend. Hope you all had a good time sitting at the house....

I've never stopped in New Castle before other than for the Thursday Special at the Fox Hole on Wednesday night.

I'll guess that I was distracted when leaving and missed Peggy Sue's.
I'll give Peggy Sue a try.

Yikes!!!! I'm sorry my KTM tried to kill you today! I'm glad you're saving her for me - KTM just come out with a lowering kit. :rayof

Trust me, I'd do about anything to come back and ride. I'm worried I won't get as much off road work in. I'm hoping TX is better. Oklahoma is under a state wide burn ban and with that is no off road riding.

Being far away just gives us an excuse to meet up and ride in different states. :D

Damn. That one was on my list for the summer. I'll be in Reno. :cry

I decided today as I laid in Honey Creek that it was probably the substitute beach ride. Silty creek water surrounded by minnows and some relative of the bluegill is going to have to be "close enough" for 2012.

ONLY if they tell you to watch the place for them while they're out. That was one of the main points in Joe horn's defense.

We'll need pics of the homestead if it works out. Sounds amazing.

kit - not really - assuming it is a PDS rear.

    http://www.werproducts.net/Suspension-Service.html $195
I'm sure there are others doing lowering as well. (like enduro engineering)

I tried looking up Javier at Trailtricks, but his site is down, not sure about him or his business, but he used to have a lot of folks who loved his work.

an X bushing will give you 7/8" - probably not enough though
