No I dont want anything to do with it. I didn't even test drive it she did. She gets 2 years of free oil changes so for 2 years I am not even opening the hood. If its like her last cars I will ride in it about 10 times in 2 years.

I like the Mini, but I'd miss the all wheel drive of the Audi. I'm going to check out the new countryman that has all wheel drive when the wife wants a new car. Not sure it's going to be big enough coming from the outback wagon she drives now.

I spent the weekend in WV on the Strom. I could not get across the Highland Scenic Byway or up to Dolly Sods because of the snow, but I did get up to Spruce Knob going up the dirt road side.

Smoke Hole Road has been freshly paved and was a blast. All in all it was a great weekend but 2 days is not enough to get clear down to Marlinton and back with these short days.

This summer I got stopped short on a mountain pass in June and now again in November due to snow, so 4 months of snow free riding.

Sorry no pics. 425 miles on Saturday and 515 on Sunday, so I was not stopping a lot

    Hey Big Ohio -

do you have my feeler gauge from when we did our trail-side valve adjustment yesterday down at the Wayne? I can't find it anywhere. Might have been covered up by those leaves on the trail. It seems those pesky valves are always in spec for some reason. . . . I don't know why we're always checking them. . .

I should buy a couple of extra gauges - I'm always losing them.

I'm really happy we came in under 40 miles for the day - so I didn't have to change my oil till I got home.

It's one of the many prices we pay to pose properly on the trail.

I'm really glad I got to ride next to you with your Klim gear yesterday - Thanks.

I got an email from Wally @ Wheelsports on that FE450 for an out the door price of $5465.59

I don't really care about future parts discounts and stuff like that since Wheelsports is so far away from me. Do you guys know anyone that works there that would be good to work with on the price? ;) There's not very many husaberg dealerships in Ohio either..is that a major concern? It also looks like they don't sell that 450 in USA anymore either...not sure how big a deal that is though.

i wouldn't be too worried about no dealers. The internet can get you whatever parts you need if you can wait a few days.

It went rather well in the snow, never had any issues but we always keep a 4WD SUV around for when it gets really bad. Almost bought an A4 Ultrasport used at one point. Wanted AWD, but zero dealer support down here for Audi... Ended up getting a Mazdaspeed6 AWD - It was a lot roomier inside than the Audi, very reliable over the 5 years / 90k that I owned it.

The Countryman is pretty cool, small inside for sure. If you strongly consider getting one, take a look at Autoblog.com - they had a long-term test review Countryman and wrote a few good articles about their experience with it.

Just changed the oil on the Strom @ 30k miles. Changed it last November with 10k according to my service log. 8k miles on the wing this year. 980 miles on the scooter. That is the most I've ever done in a year.

That's a lot of miles (and you've grabbed a lot of tags) in one year, Steve! :clap
Just over 1,000 more and you'll have 30,000 in one year......November is not over yet. :freaky

I don't keep close track, but I think the most miles I've ridden in one year is somewhere between 15 and 20,000.

That's a lot of miles riding in a year. I don't think I drive 15,000 miles on all of my vehicles combined.

Wow, and I thought my 40K annual was a lot. ;) 12K miles in 18 days to Alaska and back is the most for one trip...

I made a trip this summer to Alaska from June 1 to July21, covering just below 11k mi. I'm retired and obviously not in a hurry. Had a hellava trip. Made it up to Prudhoe Bay, down to the Kenai and a lot of the common points between here and there. One of the trip highlights: a timberwolf trotting down the road behind me while I was photographing Bear Glacier on my way down from Hyder. If I can figure out how to post photos here, I'll do a ride report this winter.

I might not get to ride a ton of miles, but I managed a hundred and some change today....was a bit brisk, but fun, and the 650 decided to not have working lights anymore...
