What kind of competition and why wait until May? I'm not great but do shoot a good bit of the combat action type stuff and could probably get you started. :freaky

Well the class is that date.:rolleyes :lol3 Not sure what sort of competition we might enjoy so the idea of a day long class introducing us to multiple types seemed like a good idea. Besides we've only been into the semi auto pistols a year.

We don't have Spring. The three seasons are Summer, Winter, and Monsoon.

Not me, but I've helped my brothers put NG units in their houses. We put an early one about 12 years ago, and it didn't work too well. The last one about 3 years ago is much better. It a sizing issue. Get the large one.

The weather here is miserable. We will go from from cold and wet to hot and humid in the course of an afternoon. It will be comfortable for about an hour.

That being said, we are just about to the day where historically the average low temps will be barely above freezing. This is what I consider the real start of the riding season.

Weather has been heavily on my mind the past few days.

Tomorrow I fly to LA for business stuff. Then on Friday, I fly to Phoenix to close a deal on an R1200GS on Saturday. Sometime late that morning, I'll mount up and head East. 33# of riding gear has been sent to the seller's address in preparation for whatever Nature will toss in my way.

Planning to stay south-ish on either I-10 or I-20 until I have to turn North. Things are looking good right now, but who knows what I'll find.

So look for lows just below freezing and ride for an hour and that will be spring then stop have lunch and when finished eating it will be summer. I've heard it gets unbearably hot and humid here...not looking forward to that. Guess I will just have to find the water to ride through

In a nutshell look for winters to be cold, snowy, and wet. Spring is non exsistant as it rains and snows at the same time, floods most low places, then that turns into 70's and rain overnight. A month or two later look for temps in the 90's with 60-80% humidity. Then come fall, then winter again. Between monsoon and boil to death seasons its also schneider incubation season, look for their eggs all over highways and other state routes.

If you dont like the weather here, wait 5 mins.

The old joke is that you might be from Ohio if you have ever used your furnace and A/C on the same day. There is some truth to that.

So what do you like about the R1200GS that you didn't like about the 800?
