That is a thing of beauty
WOW, lol! I rode the entire 92 miles and I didn't think it was "that" bad. The only "bad" part IMO was the muddy creek crossings. Pick a bad line in those and you could waste a lot of energy trying to pull yourself out. I managed to not get stuck or crash the entire day, and I felt pretty good at the end. A couple B class enduro riders even let me by in the last trail section because they were slowing me down. I could see that a lot of guys were totally spent by then. It would have been really interesting if we would have gotten any significant rain.
I think those were all enduro riders too. I fell over so many times I lost track. I got stuck a few times too but just had to hop off and push a little to get going again. I fell over on a double log crossing where the logs were only about 2 feet apart and bruised my left leg in a couple of places. That's the worse of my injuries. I'm just sore everywhere else.
I washed the bike last night because of not getting home until late on Sunday and noticed that my rear rim has a pretty good sized dent in it. Not sure how that happened. I don't remember hitting anything hard except log crossings. I was running 10 PSI in both tires to start with. I have a slow leak in the front so it was probably less than 10 by the time I finished. My front was already dented from Colorado trip last summer.
Anyone want to do a little bike ride? Preferably thurs. or fri. during the day (I have to be home around dinner time)... Or Sunday.
I've got some knobbies to throw on, but I want to make it worth my while, so Perry, or ive got a hard tar hallow loop that's pretty excellent, or Wayne.
I should be available Thurs or Fri.
I want to.......
I need to retire, this working stuff is for the birds...
I don't mind working, I just wish I could afford my hobbies.
well I DO mind working...as Matt said...its for the birds
I just wanna ride man
I plan to ride Friday, probably off-road since I have yet to transfer my title to get a sticker or plate
I'm with ya - no work, kids old enough to ride with or fend for themselves - I'd be all set. Wait...I'll be decrepit by then.
The direct link to your crash report in your signature doesn't work.
Edited to add, they're talking about your crash on the Tenere forum.... thought you might want to add your two cents.
Wonder what happened to the link?! The website is still up.
I'll get it fixed and visit the tenere forum this evening when I get home.
And riding Friday?! Anyone have any ideas?
No kidding, I've done the math, and if I manage to finish all the projects I have started now, I will be 146 years old.
I meant to tell you, if you still want to rock out on that cross country trip, the V-Strom is available to you. Just cover the cost of wear items and it's yours.
That's awesome, and I really appreciate it... but with new job, comes new bike, hopefully within the next couple weeks (when insurance pays out). I already found it, I may put some money down so they hold it.
Actually the only reason I'm starting working now is to get the new bike, and to be able to go on a ride this fall. Otherwise I'd like to take some more time off.
Can you check the link in my signature now? It should be fixed.
It is good now.
What you gonna get then, another Ten?
I'm starting to really like mine... it took 7,000 miles and some extra money to get it set up the way I wanted, but I'm pleased with the decision to have bought it now.
Got me a used Corbin coming and that should be the last of all the mods, now to keep a supply of Shinko 705s in my garage and just ride the ever loving shit out of it.
Sunday at Renaissance Hotel in Columbus, I'm on right, who's on left?
Anyone want to ride Sat a.m.? We're going out and pulling road arrows from the enduro/DS, and we may buzz through a few of the easier sections and pull arrows...
Heh. Well. I loved the Tenere no question... But off road I always felt like I was beating the ever loving hell out of it (although it worked very well), and on road I, ummm, perhaps I just a bit pushed it... Maybe... A bit too far there as well.
Plus there's the fact that I'd like to not dive right back into payments, and used Teneres seem to be holding their value pretty well thus far.
So I found a deal on a bit more aggressive type bike. And despite the fact that I despise chains and tube tires... I think I'm going to give it a shot. Worst case, I'll be able to sell or trade it in 6 months or a year and get back what I'll pay for it.
Well hell, just went to pull the picture off the website to post, and it's GONE! Sonofabitch.
Well it was my favorite color, ktm 990 adventure with only 3800 miles, asking only $7500.
But now that it appears sold, I'm back to the drawing board. That is the direction I'm leaning though. At the moment at least.
