I used to replace mine every year if they were the water/acid type. The sealed batts would last a couple and the AGM longer. The tender has worked great for me. I haven't replaced a single battery since Ive put them on them.

I've run Scorpion batteries in all the small bikes I've had and they all outlasted my ownership of the bikes. They're good priced, at least on the internet.

    YMMV.

Sept 2012 I had to replace my OEM on the C14, I stumbled on these folks, found the battery I wanted, and called them for the order to make sure it was instock...
ended up with a Scorpion, and it is still fine, excellent price...

best part was it was on my porch 48 hours after I hung up the phone, free shipping.....

Salt is great. The lower control arm let go on my car last night from rust. Pretty sad when a ball joint can outlast the control arm its attached to.

Saw a Chevy Blazer today in Springfield with the front tire laying on it's side under the car with just the tie rod still connected. Yep, salt sucks. :evil

I feel like a real dick now. Every time i see a car like that i'm like how long did that moran drive with the ball joint knocking and popping before it let go? Every tire rotation i shake it down to see if anything needs attention. Everything was fine, right up till it wasn't. Brings new meaning to "Drive it till the wheels fall off"

Nah, a real dick wouldn't make such an admission, and definitely not publicly. At worst, you're probably just a mild to middling a**hole. :thumb

FWIW, I've been using Odyssey AGM batteries in my Concours for the last eight years; got five years of year-round use from the first one, second one was still going strong when I sold the bike. The 990 came with an AGM unit stock. She started up quickly afternoon with temps this afternoon in lower 20's, and she's been sitting covered for the last two weeks.

Hey Roger, 1985 called. They want their radar detector back! :lol3

Looks good, now there are no excuses to not make it out to the range for you. :deal

Ah, the radar detector. The automobile accessory that guarantees I will write you a speeding ticket if I stop you, since it's use demonstrates forethought. If I don't stop you, but happen to be behind you in traffic and see it on your dash, I amuse myself by constantly toggling the radar off and on, over and over, and watching your LEDs light up - accompanied, no doubt, by the annoying beeping.

Your "80's" comment makes me think of the current Radio Shack TV commercial. That makes me laugh every time I see it.

    Nice ride...
    Couple questions;
The dog likes that pitiful music?...surely its not YOUR choice??
Putting on the shades next to the cop...obviously to hide your bloodshot eyes?
Did you exceed the maximum recommended rpm before the breakin period???

Geez Meef....that's not very nice. Some of us like to have a device that periodically reminds us to verify that our forward velocity remains compliant to posted legal limits..as gradual drifting to either side of that limit is impercecptable to the common Tuscarawas countian.!

Last time I got a speeding ticket was 6 years ago on the vmax because it didn't have a radar detector. :lol3 Before that was the 1990's when I was in college. Those little toys have saved my bacon so many times with my lead foot and aggressive tendencies when it comes to getting away from bad drivers. :rolleyes I plan to wire one up on the S10 like I had on the V strom. :deal

I can't remember the last time I saw any speed enforcement not being done with a laser. Detectors are useless. Pay attention and use a rabbit on long trips. Or, let the wife drive. :D
