I avoid the salt like The Plague. I rode a couple of winters ago in it and my shaft drive housing started to pit so badly I figured it wasn't worth it. :dunno

At the risk of being moved to the "Equipment" category, perhaps it's a good time to start discussing snow tires for our bikes! :rofl

Now THAT should be someone's sig line!

Considering that in Coshocton we have a Wal-Mart and NOTHING ELSE, our fun quotient must be WAY ABOVE that of HIlliard's :1drink

Hey, I thought we were keeping this a SECRET????? :huh

    Hey Guys(and Rider),

We've had our first salting of the season up here and now they are pretreating the roads w/ brine. I did a little dirtbiking in Scrotum County over the weekend. I just put a bunch of deer jerky in to cure. It'll be done tomorow afternoon. Anybody wanna ride up here to try it?

Hold on, Wolford- your breaking up... ...all we got was

"...brine... ...salty... scrotum... jerky... ...try some..."

Man, talk about cabin fever, and winter's only just begun!

Ya need a spell checker Rider! You left the KY off FUN! and the RUS off WAL! Sheesh, you'd better get Goonie to give you some fetchin' up & book learnin'. Perhaps you'd better start a renovation to convert that walrus-mart to a school!!!!!:rofl :rofl

I had an invitation to ride up to Mt Hope this afternoon to check out a table that some Amish guy (tim's brother??) was building as a Christmas present. Sadly, I was swamped at work and had to pass. Would have been fun to go out and challenge the snow gods for control of the highway.

Of course this would have paled in comparison to the funky walrus in Hilliard.

We amish do love the deer jerky & woodworking... Ok maybe us country boys ain't got too much sense but at least we can tell a deer from a car, it would appear there is somebody down yonder Coloumbus way who can't. BMWRider perhaps? Nah. I'd bet the Wal-Mart greeters wil give him an airtight alibi...

Best be careful in challenging the weather gods Tod2. Since the rain gods now know they can have their way so easily with Kind Dan IV, they've been making it known to the snow, frost, wind and fog gods that all Advriders are real wussies, so they probably will try you on for size this time of year! But I'm sure you will run the gauntlet, and, like Goonie, not end up a notch on their wussie stick:rofl They seem to try and keep clear of him now.:evil Remember the mantra of the Advid riders: UP WITH ADVENTURE! DON'T REALLY NEED A PLAN! REAL ADVRIDERS RESIDE IN RIDERLAND!!! (well, except maybe for Hilliard:rofl :rofl )

I've had to challenge the lords of snow a few times- but mostly because I had no other choice.

I would be into running my R100RT with sidehack in the snow, but that salt is just so damn corrosive.

I'm losing it. Getting a new bike a couple of weeks before the salting makes for a good deal, but a rough winter.
