I'm organising the Adventure Travel Film Festival to be held in Bright 24-26 February 2012 and I'm looking for help to publicise the event and for riders to get involved in some informal road and trail rides over the weekend. It's a biking paradise.

I've got bike adventureres Austin Vince and Lois Pryce coming out from the UK to host the event.

The festival is a celebration of adventure travel and aims to inspire people to undertake interesting journeys and record them on film. The festival will be held 24-26th February 2012 in Bright in the heart of the Victorian Alpine region. We've secured the support of the Alpine Shire who will be providing a cinema, promotion, areas for sponsors and an outdoor starlight screening venue. Bright Brewery will also help us host the event.

You can find out further information at www.adventuretravelfilmfestival.com and on our Facebook page - Adventure Travel Film Festival Australia (don't forget to like us).
You can also follow us on Twitter @ausadvtravfest

We got some great biking films with more in the pipeline. I own a mighty TTR250 and the attached custom beemer

Feel free to get in touch.

Yes, it does sound interesting, and I look forward to more detail closer to the event.

The dust and heat often isn't too bad at in the Vic high country, though we can do without bushfires then :eek1.

Just heard about this http://www.adventuretravelfilmfestival.com/ . From the Bikesales website I add the following: "The motorcycle films will include Cycles South (1971), Going the Distance (2010), Motosyberia (2007) and The Rugged Road (1935) – the latter about two English women who set off from London to ride to Cape Town in a motorcycle sidecar outfit pulling a trailer." Apparently Cycles South features a stoned nude dirt bike scene.
Sounds like a lot of fun and its in Bright in Northern Vic High Country which is lovely and a great ride, only problem some stupid #@$% has organised it on the Superbikes weekend! Oh the humanity!!

Any chance of the film festival doing a roadtrip? Not sure if I can get the time off work but would love to see it.

Oh yeah the dust and heat is bad this time of year for sure. I've done plenty of riding and 4wheeling through the area and camp in the Buckland Valley over summer. Feb is the driest.

    He did mention road riding.

It's going to be so cool - Did I mention tickets for the weekend are available at the website ($65 for the whole weekend)

Plus we have three Aus adventure heros

    Jon Muir
    Tim Cope
    Alby Mangels (he's back)

    Have all confirmed.

I'm talking to some one who will do a road kill cook out!

Tim suggested Mongolian dancer, and a throat singer he knows.

The local bike club need to be persuaded to lead some trail rides (Trust me the riding is epic - road and trail)

I post the latest news on the Facebook and twitter sites

Wha'ts the best way to get the 4WD guts involved?
