ADVice for a new guy

    Someone once told me you can't fall asleep on a motorcycle. Apparently They have never rode anywhere. You can fall asleep on a bike. If you get drowsy don't fight it pull over and refresh for a while good luck.

    It's easy to get caught up in the fear of mechanical breakdown. What's just as likely is you breaking down, but in a way that sneaks up on you.

    Do not get cold. It is not only annoying, it decreases your ability (severely). Do not get wet. Once you get wet, you get cold.

    Seriously, on your way to tennessee, you'll get cold through the mountains. Buy a heated jacket liner rather than a vest. I always thought heated gear was for old guys. I learned the hard way.
    Raingear also breaks the wind. Even if you get soaked before you can put it on, It will keep you warm after you've already gotten wet.
