    G'day,

I've got 2 weeks this Christmas 2013 to do some adventure riding...

As a relative newcomer to these parts (living in London) what would people recommend?

    Bike is 950SE
    Don't like motorways.
    Keen for dirt/mountains...sand is ok.

Obviously need to head south at that time of year....

    Morocco is obviously popular.
Think I heard that Tunisia is emerging?
Any decent offroad in Spain/Portugal? Or would it be too cold/icy in Dec/Jan in the higher parts?

Do the ferry's still run to Spain from UK at X-Mas? They aren't showing at that time currently.

    Any thoughts appreciated, cheers :D

You can ride in Spain all winter, just came back from there last week (with a broken collar bone). Lots of companies (google) some also offer trips to Marrocco.

    Thanks guys!

I'm used to 40C at that time of year...not that it's any good for riding, but can't say snow is any more appealing....respect though :thumb

Sorry to hear about the collar bone...is there much ice/snow on roads/tracks at moderate-higher elevations there at that time of year?

You can see snow in Spain, there are some pretty high mountains there (they've had alpine world championship in Sierra Nevada) and in 2011 we did ride on snow at approx 2000m altitude (see pic). But only for a few minutes in the shade.

To put it another way, shouldn't be a big problem avoiding snow :D Mostly 10-20degC, perfect for enduro really, but could be colder in morning and at altitude.
