    Uses an H4.

A customer with a similar bike bought one at the BMW RA Rally this past weekend. Seems there is plenty of space inside the headlight bucket.

A friend put one in his transalp. He didn't notice a difference between high and low on the wall. Could he have installed it 90 degrees out so the light gets put into the same spot?

90 degrees out would be a problem, don't even think it would hit the reflector, which is what an H4 is designed to do.

High and low beam have the same lumen output (2400), the H4 spec changes the position of the light on the reflector which creates distance for high beam and beam cutoff for low beam.

If I knew this would fit in my R1100gs headlight housing I would order one.
it seems pretty tight in there from memory though, do you happen to know about the fit in that application Sanjoh?

I just ordered one for my wr250r. Looking forward to testing it out.

Am I correct in thinking the h4 will also fit the ktm 690 enduro? I'm tempted to get another ktm with the new 2014 model.

I am really interested but I guess I will have to wait until some longer term reviews will come out. I love the idea of these bulbs but I am a little wary.

wary of what? carry the old one with you, should something go wrong stick it back in.. LED lights are infinitely more reliable than standard bulbs. it's almost certain the stock one will blow at sometime in the first few years of owning any bike.

I don't think it will fit. Does it have the adjuster on the back of the headlight bucket? Kinda looks like a turnbuckle used to adjust vertical beam height.

Got a 2012 690 here, also interested in this led "bulb". Don't think there's much free space for that heatsink though, I seem to recall the back of the plug that goes onto the bulb being awfully close to the front of the headstock.

Fairly easy installation, 20 minutes tops. Had to maneuver some due to wire loom seating directly behind LED unit. I haven't tried it at night but it appears bright enough during daylight. I ride to work every night and was previously using an HID 6000k unit.
I will report later on results.
