ADVWoman Rally Granby, Colorado July 20-23

This rally is hosted by ADVWoman. Our mission is to provide a SAFE, comfortable, supportive environment for women adventure riders (and their friends and families) to learn, grow, gather, ride together and have tons of fun! Respectful men are welcome! In 2016 the rally was 60% women and 40% men. Quite a few couples attended and enjoyed meeting other ADV riding couples.

The ADVWoman Rally has expanded to a four day event this year. Participants will enjoy on range rider training opportunities, class room sessions, tons of local dual sport and adventure rides, off road Geocache Scavenger hunt, a new vendor display area, opening celebration, awards ceremony including the now INFAMOUS "Man Up, Ride Like a Girl" award, and our DJ Dance!

Canadian Female GS Trophy Candidate and BMW Certified Off Road Instructor Caroline Stevenson will be on hand to teach rider clinics and share a bit about her GS Trophy experience.

This year immediately following the ADVWoman Rally, we're launching into the FIRST EVER ALL WOMAN COLORADO BACKCOUNTRY DISCOVERY ROUTE TOUR. ADVWoman has partnered with Alisa Clickenger of Womens Motorcycle Tours to offer this spectacular, fully supported womens tour! (At this time the tour is FULL. We have added a second ALL WOMAN COBDR TOUR SEPT 1-10.)

COST OF THE RALLY $247 (Discounts are currently available.)
This includes primitive tent and RV camping (no facilities.) There will be a porta-a-potty at campground. It includes hot catered meals. Breakfast Thursday through Sunday morning and Dinners Thursday through Saturday evening. The base price includes entry into all classroom training sessions, Opening Celebration Thursday evening and Closing Awards Ceremony and Dance Party Saturday night. The rally fee also includes GPX tracks and maps for local self-guided rides. We have laid out at least four different routes with different mixtures of pavement, dirt, skill level, and distances. Riders can enjoy a completely different ride each day! Base rally fee also includes entry into the GeoCache Scavenger hunt with a prize awarded or highest points.

Portions of the base fee goes to rental of camping and training facility, catered meals, insurance, and rental of the convention space where indoor activates are held. The LIONS SHARE of fees goes to catered meals. We could do this much cheaper if we did not provide food. But when families vacation, women often still wind up doing a lot of work. We choose to provide catered meals because we want WOMEN to relax and enjoy themselves.

    ADDITIONAL FEES FOR ADDITIONAL SERVICES.
Hotel Lodging through the Inn at Silvercreek is additional. Fee varies depending on accommodations. http://innatsilvercreek.com/ or call 888.878.3077 ext 2 Mention "ADVWoman Rally" for discount.

We are teaching a limited number of on range rider classes. "Adventure Essentials," "Dirt Bike Essentials," and "BDR Essentials." There are additional feels for those classes because we have hired professional instructors to teach. There are discounts if you bundle two classes.

Camper showers are available for $5 per day from the Inn At Silvercreek. That fee also gets you unlimited use of the recreation center's indoor/outdoor pool, hot tubs, work out center, and towels.

This was a ton of fun last year. I learned a lot, played a lot and met fantastic people. My lovely boyfriend went with to support me and he had a great time too. If you want to have a great time riding in Colorado you can't go wrong with this group! Pat thanks for putting this together again this year.

I got the update. Just got home. I attended the whole event with my wife. It was a lot like the West Fest I went to in Darby....... but it was good. A few key points....... no one got so drunk they puked on a keg as they served themselves their 30th beer. Best I could tell nearly everyone rode nearly every day. ADV riders who actually rode motos.

The event was organized and well put together The location is perfect. The hotel conference center has camping onsite and a rider training arena on site That's right..... everything in one place. The hotel has a bar with great beer choices too.
A full service moto shop ( Powerworld Granby) just a mile or 2 away. So..... about the riding. Duh...... it's Colorado...... the riding is amazing. Lots of forest service roads and paved high passes Looking for singletrack? We rode singletrack for 3 of the days. Creamy dreamy amazing flowy singletrack. I have been a lot of places and this in my new favorite riding area for quality singtrack. It lacks the brutal stuff and the high alpine on Taylor Park but I like Flow.

The staff...... Pat and her ladies are first class. Great group. Yes the ride better than me ....... and that means you too. More importantly they are good at working with the girls and getting them to step up to the challenges without intimidating them. Let's face it guys........ many woman just aren't gonna get better with our tips. apparently " I don't know, just lean into the turn and twist your wrist " is not how you teach someone to corner.

Leading up to this event I was faced with my wife selling her bikes. Now I am faced with her wanting a few part and gear upgrades and her wanting to ride more.... a lot more. My wife is my best friend and this makes me happy.

Pat said at the beginning of the Rally she hopes to teach a few things and to empower the ladies. She accomplished that in spades.

The last day after a a few hours in the woods , 3 guys and 5 girls my buddy Calib and I sat in the late afternoon shade and drank a beer and watched the girls load all the bikes on the trailers. We didn't offer to help... they didn't ask...... they were empowered to just get it done.

Is my wife roosting turns in top gear? No. Is she dragging pegs on slab? No. Is she able to loft her front wheel over a downed telephone pole? Yea........ she can now!!!!!
All this and we both made what will most likely be long time friends.

Guys....... get your ladies signed up for next years Rally. Summer 2018 in Granby Co. send them alone..... drop them off... or attend as well. Just do it

Thanks Pat and crew for everything. Kurt and MJ.

Thanks Kurt! You and MJ are awesome! This is why I do what I do.

I'm just back from our first ever all woman COBDR Tour. The ladies killed it! Funniest moment for me was when the ladies dropped trow and mooned me at the top of Hagerman Pass! LOL! You should've seen the fellas standing around their jeeps. First they looked pretty surprised at 8 lady riders at the top of Hagerman. Then they started pointing and laughing when I got mooned!

Once I get rested up a bit, I plan on hitting up some of that dreamy, flowing single track. I'm planning on GPS-ing some of it for you to play on next year! I'm planning on offering more advanced classes in 2018. MJ is ready!

Thanks again Kurt and MJ! Can't wait to see you next year or sooner!
