Is anyone riding out from the west coast?
But its too much time off work for me unfortunately. I have family in MN and an August trip was planned anyway, so I'm going to see if I can fly in and order my roadcrafter direct from the source! Sucks to not be on the bike though.
Actually, this may be one Rally that being off a bike is OK. I went to the last one and they have so many activities on site that I never left. First Rally ever that I never touched the bike for 2 days. The Trials event fascinated me and I wound up following a bunch of the better riders to each area. That and great entertainment each night. YMMV
Does anybody know if the rally site will be open on Thursday for early arrivals ?
I do not know. Didja email them?
Looked at the VBR page did not see a place to email about the rally?
So the answer is no.
It'll get to the right person..
I suppose you could also phone.
Or I could ask, if'n I stop in at 'stitch on saturday.
Which I might.
Good luck, and I'd bet a shiny new nickel that there will be no issue with you camping there a day early.. Even more-so, if you offer to volunteer to work..
I will take that nickel.
Update for Case #11538 - "Contact Form"
We are glad to hear you will be joining us for VBR! Unfortunately, campers won't be able to secure a site until Friday morning. It is first come, first serve though so we recommend that you try to get there early to pick the best spot for you. We are looking forward to boring you to death. See you there!
If we can assist you further, please call us at 1-800-222-1994.
Crap.. This rally is costing me money already!
Damn you Andy Goldfine!!
I shall rush up there friday morning to make sure I get a good spot.
I just have to wait until ajayhawkfan has pitched his tent, so that I can be well away from it.
Better wait for paper to pitch his as well.
Dammit, I'm not going.
I am coming from Florida and will be arriving Thursday evening. I planned on camping on the site. Since we can't get on site till Friday where are people staying the night before? Wild camping or Spirt Mountain Campground? Something else?
I have a suite reserved with a fold out couch at the<a href="https://maps.google.com/maps?ie=UTF-8&q=Country+Inn+%26+Suites+By+Carlson+duluth+skyline&fb=1&gl=us&hq=Country+Inn+%26+Suites+By+Carlson+duluth+skyline&cid=0,0,17126121918634437499&ei=Wb4BUq_RFuGfyQGquoGQDQ&ved=0CKABEPwSMA4"> Country Inn and Suites on Skyline Drive </a>. The suite is two rooms. If anyone is interested in the fold out couch, let me know. During the rally, obviously.

Thank you for your email. Registration opens on Thursday so camping will be available on Thursday night as well. The event activities do not start taking place until Friday morning.
If you have any questions, please let me know.
Better give paper his nickel back, eh?
