I’ve been riding with some buddies after work and thought a thread on the topic might be interesting to start while we have the long summer sunshine.

That last rain cycle was very productive for us here in the high desert. Zero dust, snow melting, lots of downed trees to clear and some new areas that were logged last fall before the forest closed for wildlife habitat and winter migration. It was also raining so hard a couple of days that we didn’t bring cameras or phones ‘cause we knew we were going to get soaked - 50 degrees and never more than 20 miles from the barn made it a fun game.

Then it started raining at night and sunny for the afternoon roosts.

Got up around 6000’ and hit the ice/snow line.

Got kinda 'lost' but snaggled through.

Here’s how tight the trail is but Brad is on that cheater 200 so he’s laughing.

This is really steep and rideable downhill only right now.

It dries out real quick around here but it’s still grippy and fresh this evening.

Just a quick 40 miles of late day action.

The dirt won’t look like this until it rains again.

We rode 7 of 10 days during the storms and it looks like we have some more brewing soon for more after work fun!

    The rain has returned! :clap

You probably can't really see in this photo – the torrents coming down, loud on the metal roof of our big shed – we wait for almost 40 minutes for the storm cell to pass over us.

It really is raining hard –

bad car – looks good wet.

We couldn't wait for the rain to stop and took off in a downpour, got soaked through the crotch within the first 5 miles of single track and laughing because it's 52 degrees and we're only 10miles from the beer cooler here - Neffr roosting the 450 past a slash pile

Either my camera got wet (no surprise - even in a ziplok just taking the first shot it got a pretty good dowsing) or the battery is tired so this was the last pic for me. Up in the fir trees though and they're soaking wet, the first rider through is drenched just touching them.

    more in a minute . . .

It's funny though, we are completely drenched and having a gas!

Wooo nothing like takin' off after work on 'hump day'! :clap:clap

Not so moist but we know where the chocolate is and head up onto the north facing side of things.

Benchracer117 on his Husky 250 and I took off about 4:30 today for a 50 mile workout.

We've both put in a full day on the job - we agree to blast up into the shadows for some exploring and try to resurrect an old, forgotten trail.

Yo - Found it! hadn't been up here in quite some time but it still rolls! :clap

Looks like Ronald McDonald ! Ha! :lol3

Oh geez - the manzanita and alders have really been busy since I was here last. My bike boiled over but that damn Husky is not smokin'

Shoulda brought some gardening tools but more gas will have to do - at least we're pointed downhill :clap

Our dang trail has been logged and we're 'stumped' - get it? :lol3

Big timber - looks like we need to find a get-around.

We headed back down and finished off this one with a couple frosties at the ranch.

That looks like the kind of trails dreams are made of. I'd think you'd be needing bigger tanks to do serious exploring, but considering it's probably afternoon when you got started, I guess you were fine. Everyone dreams of trails like that (except for the fallen trees area).

We started riding about 4:30 and were no more than 20 miles from home and yes, we both have bigger tanks. Big winds last winter blew down more trees than normal but some hardy fellas have been up there with saws slowly clearing things up! When wet, those trails are as good a riding as anywhere and not that bad when dusty!
