aftermarket pegs: do they drag more? Should I be concerned?

I've calculated it at same point for the Tiger 800 as I was scraping so much, but in the end I just ground off the "peg feelers" with a few spirited rides, once I started hitting hard parts I changed my style and was generally okay. The GS and especially the GSA have MUCH more room there.

I weigh 190, and scrap my pegs, and even my shifter. But if your riding style never brings you that low, then you really don't have much to worry about. Most people know this will be a problem before even stepping on the bike. I love canyon carving and the GS does it well. But if you're more of a straight line cruiser you'll rarely have a ground clearance problem. However, as previously mentioned, I'd be more concerned with pegs that don't fold up.

People keep mentioning the non-folding pegs. Do they exist? I have never seen them for the GS.

I use the BMW adjustable foot pegs and truth be told these GS have excellent (speaking standard height suspension) ground clearance and feet being drug off the pegs is the biggest issue, I have average size feet (10) and wear boots that aren't bulky and while the pegs do touch during hard corners that is not a problem in the least but a foot being jerked from the pegs is unnerving and my biggest problem/concern in the twisties.

If I was scraping my crash bar before my folding pegs, I'd take them off!
