My friend Bob raced these cool old bikes with AHRMA at Unadilla at their Motocross Rewind event this past weekend in New York ...

Here's what Bob had to say about it: "Attendance was huge ... about five hundred plus racers from coast to coast with some totally awesome restored old machinery. They also had a four mile cross country race held on Friday with Saturday and Sunday motocross racing. "WOW" what a track, I've been wanting to race there for many years and finally got to do it! It's not your usual "jumpy" youth inspired MX facility rather more like road racing in the dirt ... fast wide sweeping turns with big up and down hill sections all on a perfectly rich moist dirt surface ... an absolute total blast was had by all, an excellent place for old bikes! I can't wait until next years rewind ..."

As raced 1974 Rickman Zundapp 125 and AHRMA trophy ...

Way to go Bob! The Zundapp belonged to his big brother, Michael, who I think purchased it new in 1974 ...

Thanks for passing on the report!

Your friend has some nice bikes there. Unadilla is a fantastic place. Attended GP and transam events in the 70's.

I have a good friend whom I used to race with in those days and we are targeting next years event. We just could not pull it together by the time we heard about it.

Do you know if Mickey Kessler raced this?

    Hi FJ_Kevin,

Thanks for reading ... nice bikes, indeed! I never made it to Unadilla in the '70's, but remember those days (and On Any Sunday, etc.) ... Bob says he had to plan to make it for a couple of years before it all came together this year ... I hear there were a lot of big stars that came out for the Rewind this year ... I'll ask Bob about Mickey Kessler ... God bless New Jersey! :ricky

My neighbor had a Zundapp Rickman that he bought from my dad when he owned a Suzuki/Triumph/BMW dealership. Neat little bike.
