Has anyone had a air bag vest or coat inflate when they got launched off their bike? Or known anyone who has had one inflate? How'd it work for them?

I know that Hit-Air makes them. Any other makers?

A local mechanic/shop owner near me has a son on the professional race circuit. Apparently in one of the big races last year, a rather large crash occurred. The rider was wearing a hit-air vest and he walked away with relatively minor injuries. If you ask him, he will credit the vest with saving his life, without it he would have tumbled quite nicely and not had any protection for his neck, spine etc.

I ordered a vest a couple of weeks ago, unfortunately the wrong size came in. My new one should be in this week, since I value my life more than the ~$400, it seemed like a worthwhile investment.

Oh yeah, there are a couple of other vendors out there now, but they don't have the record that hit-air has... can't comment on their quality.
