you guys bring them on,and i just watch from the side line
I have to get a goddam smugmug account...
For a pic of mine check out this thread...
But I'm working on it! Hopefully be riding it by the fall!
c'mon.... lets see more
What's the frame from? What's the rest of your plan?
Reality: '74 R60/6 frame and motor Seat/tank/rear wheel
4 speed kickstart gearbox
XR650 front end (questionable year)
some absolutely kick ass friends that also know how to put this shit together
Dreams: Reinforce Frame
remove starter/charging system (!)
shave crankcase to bare minimum
relocate upper rear shock mounts
Bend new exhaust to route up over engine and out under seat
Raise air intakes
Retain kick ass friends throughout process (imperative)
see how close to 300lbs(dry) it can get.
Sound Like a Plan? Dunno how its going to pan out, but, uh.. its a dream I have. Actually the photos from this thread that were posted last year and such were what got me all hot and bothered. I wish I could do more of it myself, so far I'm just chucking funds at it. But what the hell. I'd only buy food or something.
You GO boy!
Oh, you left out "Take lots of pictures for the big-talkin' poltroons at ADVrider."
A six days bike from 1953.
Wish I could type better, Sorry.
1972 R75 GS On-Off Roader. :eek1
Got any details on it's construction? Extended swing arm?
There was a R60/5 converted to a GS on Ebay a month or two ago out of Atlanta. Didn't make reserve, looked interesting.

Hi Norton 73, (Got 2 Nortons myself, the ones with the real frames tho)
Yes, it has a later /6 swinging arm and tank. XR 500 front end, 30mm amals, and recently put on the original heavier flywheel in place so I could put the electric starter system on. lost some response after having a much lightened flywheel on, buts is just fine. R90 S rear bevel housing for the road but have an R60 with lower gearing for the trails, but motor is torquey so i haven't used it much.
I tend to use it off road instead of my V Strom 'cos if that went down... OUCH!! The damage! Just did about 100 miles on the Strom this afternoon in the NC sunshine. Got to the snow level in the hills.
Happy Days Freddiefudpucker
My 81 g/s waiting for spring.........
Any chance you could post a larger pic of this bike.

do you want me to make you one? my jig is currently set @ +100mm
This bike has had some changes since the picture was taken in 2004. The pictures from the summer of 2005 can be seen at my site under the Mountain Trip menu. Since 2006 the bike has got more changes, quite unsure about all the modifications. The weight has been reduced to 160 kg.
