Wtb "normal" aftermarket side stand for BMW R100GS
still looking for a set of black crash/engine guards that would fit a 78 r80/7. i like the 2 piece kind and not the one piece. they don't need to be pretty.
also need the black plastic seat trim pieces for a stock /7 seat. with all you folks creating custom seats, got any of these laying around from your old rusty torn seats?
This is the reason I was looking for a LWB seat pan...any ideas?
What is a "normal" aftermarket side stand?
I might want one also?
There are people that can fix something like that but it likely would cost two or three times more than another seat pan from Ebay or a Flea Market. It just means you may be looking for the part you need for awhile. Wire brush it and throw some paint on it. Use it till you get another.
Yeah, kinda posted it as a joke!
I might have something for each of you. please remind me if I don't contact you in a day or so, but i have crashbars, trim pieces and a seat pan that is better than you have...
Fits /5, /6 and /7 (not certain about R65).
$100 plus shipping.
Sold to a guy in Oz. Thanks for funding my carb rebuild and cable replacement! Hope it finds you well.

A "normal" side stand doesn't drop your airhead on its cylinder when you "think" the side stand is down and accidentally sprung back up.......
A "normal" side stand doesn't require you to be 7 feet tall to employ.......
If you make the side stand "sticky" so it doesn't spring back, then when you forget to pull it up when you ride off, the first left turn bounces you right......because you can't see the side stand because the left cylinder hides it......
I have owned and restored five GS airheads over the years and finally I am DONE with the stock side stand.
Here is some links to discussion and builders of a better side stand.
I have this set of Ohlins forks and tripples set up to bolt in to an airhead. I recall the tripple trees were CR500 and I had a new shaft machined and pressed in to suit my HPN replica but have now decided to fun conventional forks to keep in theme.
The Forks are used and marked but clean and in good working condition. I do not have an axle but can confirm that the CR250 axle fits straight in and the Nissin calliper bolts up.
They are in Sydney Australia, I will post worldwide at what ever rate I am quoted.
I want $1000.00 for the lot.
WANT --------- BROKE !

Anyone have one for sale?
I think you have to say what year/model bike. It's not a universal deal.
