I just saw this ad on the local c list. I bet there is some ADVR that can help out. I live in LA so:
My son is in the United States Coast Guard stationed in the Middle East (Bahrain). He recently purchased a 1988 BMW r100gs from a gentleman in Phoenix. It is being stored at his grandfathers house in Tucson. My son and I live in Wisconsin (At least I do). The plan is for me to ride my GS to Tucson this summer and for him to fly to Tucson. We would then ride back to Wisconsin together. What we need help with is for someone to take a look at the r100gs in the next couple of months and make sure it is roadworthy for a 2000 mile roadtrip. We are willing to pay for any parts, labor etc. that may be needed to make the bike safe. The BMW has about 39,000 miles. Please help out a fellow airhead guy. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

    Dale,

I may be able to help out. I'll be back in Tucson after the holidays. I may be leaving for Vermont in March but should be able to at least get things moving in the right direction for you. I know a great Ex-BMW tech who has a shop and does great work if needed.

I just copied and pasted the ad after I saw it.
I'm sure the guy will be thrilled. I'm in LA Ca. so it's a bit far for me to drive!
