I carry an emergency contact card Klim made for me when I bought their gear. It is in the left forearm pocket of the jacket with the medical insignia in the outside.
Agree with above. I carry an Inreach which does Live real time tracking, acts as an emergency 'beacon (SOS)' and allows me to communicate via text/email/facebook etc-anywhere in the world to anywhere in the world. I use mine for Mountaineering and ADV riding.
I've printed out a card with my contact info, medical conditions, medicines and doctor. I put it in a small pouch with a cord and it goes around my neck. I've also got a Spot, usually on the bike, but I plan on clipping it on my jacket if I'm on a secluded road.
I’m not sure of your dates but I’m leaving 13 Jul from SW MI headed to Cody for a visit then continue West then north.
Someone introduced me to the idea of bringing along the free-standing freezer bags (used for soups and such-like) as a means of managing night-time bladder relief without needing to stagger out of a cold tent and run the gauntlet of mosquitos. I realized that the freezer bags could also be useful to temporarily store the contents of a fuel tank if I need to work on the fuel pump on my KTM - Due to that being one of the few reported potential trip-ending failures, I am carrying a spare pump and filter.
Yes but I'm not convinced that dirt, introduced through fueling, is the problem. There seem to be plenty of reports of people still having issues with the pump or pump intake filter, even with the guglatech filters installed.
I found this company called Road ID which makes bracelets with contact info. Costs $25 but I just carry my wallet on me with all the details. https://www.roadid.com/
+1, I’ve been wearing a dog tag style Road ID for years. Started using it for cycling and now pretty much all the time. My dog has their K9 version as well.
for emergency/medical information there are a few different apps you can put on your phone. they install an icon on your lock screen that when tapped or slid will show your medical information (medications, allergies, blood type etc) as well as emergency contacts in case you are incapacitated, even if your phone is locked or password protected.
I know this is not the weather channel, but I need to scream somewhere....!!! Spring is really late coming, not sure if that will translate into points north... AK & Tuk. So on Sat & Sunday you could take your ride out for a bit of a shakedown.... it was 6-10 degrees C. This was 10 miles SW of Calgary on Saturday: This was "next Day" Monday morning 2 miles S of Calgary -3 C .... is this ever going to end..!!!
But there's hope! https://www.accuweather.com/en/ca/tuktoyaktuk/x0e/june-weather/1365376?monyr=6/1/2018
