Thanks, excellent RR ! . . . solo IS a lot more fun.

When I was up there the best line I heard was :
Ladies, if you want to get married go to Alaska.
The odds are good . . . but the goods are odd !

Guess I'm a little late to the game, but I hope not too late to add my hearty congrats for both a great ride and a great report. Awesome, inspiring stuff. You've reminded us that the spirit of adventure is in the rider, not the bike. Thanks!:clap

Most excellent! Luckily Jack put a link to this ride report in the Alaska forum on here.

And IMO this could definitely be called an "exotic adventure!" Great write-up and photos!

So very glad I got to meet you in Dawson and hope to see you again someday soon.

Oh and yes, AlcanRider gave me your hug a few weeks ago at Alaska Leather. :D

Warmest regards and big hugs back, Mark H.

Awesome story, someone knows how to live life.

124 pounds, 5'4, female, solo, Alaska, Alaskan Gravel on a Busa, with awesome pink hair...I have no excuse now, for anything. That ride report was one of my favorites.

" I stopped and chatted with a large group of ADV riders at the gas station and after I visited the information center, saw that they were all parked outside the hotel. This time I took my helmet off and went in to say hi. They were ending up at the rally,not-a-rally, eventually, doing the Dalton first. Theyy were all great guys and asked if I would like to join their group but I declined,I travel solo happily...( most of the time)
Sadly, I would find out later that the rider who was so friendly and welcoming to me crashed badly 200 k south of Deadhorse and had to be airlifted to Fairbanks. "

I remember that day.. I ended up meeting you again in Dawson and took your advice on camping just out of town, remember? Great RR L~

    Wow,
Read your RR this morning. Congrats and very inspiring. It's amazing how little things you share touch and change people and there opinions.
I am really impressed and in awe. Thank you!

Well said ... I'm not much for words so I will just agree whole heartedly.

I love finding these tidbits for RRs. I don't have nearly the time but it's great to come across one like this from time to time
