Here is the latest update to my Basecamp database for my upcoming Alaska trip (including some stuff in the lower 48 too). The file contains waypoints for campgrounds, motels, restaurants, bike shops, fuel locations, and points of interest I've found from reading dozens of your great ride reports. The info fields in many of the waypoints also include addresses, phone numbers, and things about the locations that could be helpful.

Sounds good. All the fuel stops in the database are open and have gas at this time so far.

Thanks for the waypoints. My sons and I are leaving for Prudhoe Bay (from Washington DC) on July 22. I still have a ton of planning to do and some fabrication work to complete but we will be ready when the time comes.

Great Alper. I'll have a small update in the spring with a few more locations and info. I'll do a post when I get it uploaded.

Thanks for the info! Making a trip by truck from Beaufort, NC to Glasgow, MT, leaving it with friends, onward to D2D on F700GS and from there W to Alaska for several weeks' rambling and motoflyfishing leading up to a rendezvous in Anchorage on Aug 5 (putting my bike in a friends' small hangar) with 5 folks from the Morehead City area, who are coming in for a week of fly-outs for silver salmon...then back to Anchorage Aug 12 and heading out and back thru BC to western Montana, back east to Glasgow for my pickup. So this is great addition for a traveling man, I am certainly a coffee and pie fellow..

You can give them a call to see if they have gas. Some are out every now and then. You can also do a google search on the various places to get more info.

Tewster2, I meant on the GPX file, when I open it in basecamp do you have the gas stations marked with Icons?

    Thanks

Oops sorry. Most all of the motels, towns, and campgrounds have gas nearby for travelers and locals. I didn't make separate icons for gas stations. I'll be going back through the stuff and when I update the next time I'll try to add icons for stand alone gas stations. A bit hard to do as the small gas only places go in and out of business all the time.
