well i guess this is the next leg of my round the world trip, last year i rode around europe on a xtz 660 and have done asia on a 1971 vespa 150 super and around OZ on a mixture of a super tenere750 and my wr400 but they are other stories i went via china as i am a cheap aussie c#*t, the ticket was $700 cheaper than our beloved Qantas or Air Canada ,now this bike has a set of panniers worthy of any junk you could care to throwin there but i think ground clearance may have been an issue as you will see later on in some other pics

now someone forgot to tell me that is was a f*ing long way from edmonton to denali national park where my newly betroved KLR was waiting for me, i got it from tuumi and his report on his ride uo there is elsewhere on here ,so being a cheap aussie c*#t i did not want to fork out for a $700 airfare to fairbanks so it was time to hit the road with the thumb out ,about a week or so later i finally got to denali to get the new bike

I picked up my new love here at denali national park where the WOW factor is right up there ,it is a really awsome place to start the trip, not without some trouble as there was some roadworks in progress with a huge line up, so i decide to ride up the inside of the line up and there in the second car from the front was the local sherrif ,he pulls me up and commences to check my passport and papers etc and gives me a smack on the hand ,the old "but you can do that in OZ "did not go well with mr nasty so finally i was off

well a trip to deadhorse would not be complete with out the picture by the arctic circle sign ,now travelling alone tends to have its drawbacks in taking pictures of one self ,you always seem to have a nice pic of your bike here by this sign ,by that lake, by that mountain etc ,when you get home all your normal friends look at your photos and make little comments like "alright we know you were on a bike trip ok" but they just don't really get it ,so this nice german fella was sitting there and snaps one of me

deadhorse is a funny little place ,its all about big arse machinery i think ,so you go in fill up ,go to the the best buffet in the whole of alaska for a mere $15 and turn around and head back to fairbanks

if you are riding into anchorage ,there is a an ATV shop about 15 miles out and run bike a cool crazy guycalled Tod and his son ,he is about 50 and still races ice speedway and Quads on ice ,they helped me get my ailing klr on the road again ,my chain and back sprocket were rooted and neither of the anchorage kawasaki shops had a rear sprocket ,"yeah we can get you one in a week or so" ,now this is the biggest selling bike in alaska mind you .Here at alaska atv salvage Tod says i will have a look around, we found an old kl600 out the back buried under the pile, i also got a new front guard as the super moto(super useless) one on it did a good job of spraying shit all over me ,we found a fairly new DID chain as well ,these guys are my hero's they were great ,it's just worth going there to look around
