Yep. We need a sticky at the top of the AK forum. Maybe type out phone #s, so the bots don't get them...

Team Pterodactyl Canadian HQ pretty much has it all and would be fine to be included on your list. BTW, hold on to that seat, I hope I will find a ride for it to get here before D2D. It would likely take that long in the mail.

I think AKCharlie's one "good idea" ONLY came about because he's rightly concerned about his bike's reliability. :lol3

I'm in and can offer a place to stay and/or a meal. However, catching me at home is hard as I'm usually in the mountains or out riding when I'm not at work! I have a garage and mechanic tools (courtesy of my son) and I'm conveniently located right off the Glenn Hwy near Turpin.

Oops - I forgot to mention AKCharlie is handsome, distinguished, intelligent, humble and modest. (I still have to be respectful to the geezers as our Prudhoe Bay trip isn't far off and I don't want to get left behind somewhere or be used as bear bait.) :nod

Okay, working on the phone tree. Is everyone okay with telephone number, general area (Spenard, Muldoon, Chitna, etc.) and brief list of resources available? It'll be a sticky on the top of the Alaska forum. I will put something on my travelers page too. A few more days and it'll be ready to post. Thanks, Barb

We put an emergency number button on my website. Please take a look and see if is okay. Go to www.alaskaleather.com and click on travelers page (on the left side). Then click on the emergency button in the middle. Let me know if this is okay and then we'll make it a sticky on the Alaska forum here. Also let me know if you were left out. I think the only one I forgot is ..... Charlie! Thanks, Barb

This is cool, we have a sticky! Thanks to the mods for putting it up. Now we are adding a Canada section too because someone from Dawson City put their name in the hat. So if there are any more Canadians out there interested, let me know. Thanks, Barb

    Hey Barb-

Looks good, but there's a typo on my cell area code (907).

Well, I can attest to how good an idea this is. I went down hard in the White Mountains Sunday on the V-strom, broke my collarbone and whacked my head pretty good. Tow truck strapped me down for a ride to the hospital and the ambulance took the bike to the local Mobil station. There were no places to stay, no taxis near the hospital. I found a private shuttle to take me the fifteen miles to a little inn, which coincidentally was a block from the Mobil station. Once I got my senses about me after a handful of percocet and a mug of tequila, I got on ADVrider. The only thing I saw with NH was the Tag-O-Rama so I crashed it. Within hours a number of ADVriders responded and on Tuesday one drove an hour an a half to help me out. Got his buddy to come up with a pickup, helped with getting parts, put me up for a night, and then stored the bike and got me to the airport after I realized the balance problems from the concussion weren't going away quite yet. It's good to see the Alaska forum on the cutting edge once again! Roger
