It might make more sense to rent a bike from Greece... I know that Meletis (organizer of Evia Rally) will have KTM rentals available for that race, and he has strong ties with Edvin (organizer of Rally Albania).

I can ask around if you want

edit: Apparently KTM bikes will be available for rent through the organizers at Rally Albania...

I would love to do this event, however, I am recovering from the Australian rally this year...so no more big bike events until 2013.

We are really anticipating this rally now! We are 16 swedish riders of Rally Raid Sweden with support from Scandinavian Offroad Service that are rolling into Albania. 4 of us did it last year and loved it! I know the imperfections of last year will have been smoothed out and that we can expect a great track! We will have a few contenders for the overall win and a heap of top10 riders with us. Looks like the dutch team will be the one to beat..? :evil
But don't think that we are nationalistic, just because half of us are Husaberg riders. It's just a great rally bike! :D

Off to the mx-track for some training, see you all in 90 days, my friends! :freaky

Eaob does service at the Albania rallye, so RBC would prepare the bike, bring it and the spares to EAOB who then transport it to Albania and help with support.

You can get a rental bike from RBC or from EAO itself. Recently EAO added a KTM 530 2011 to its fleet as rental bike.

Time flies! Now we are already into the last minute panic tinkering! Only a few weeks remain before we are once again back in Albania for a wonderful rally with wonderful friends!

We will pack the support truck on the 2nd of June which will then only a few days later begin its journey downwards and the rest of the team will fly in.

Can't wait to get there! See you all soon! :freaky

Does anybody kow the minimum fuel range required for this rally?

I have a 3 gallon Clarke tank on my 520, which gives me a range of a little over 150kms... do I need more?

Something came up and I might be joining the party at the last minute :D

@Brodovitch - Must be enough. 3 gallons is 12 liters? My EXC always consumed on this hard pack between 1 liter on 18/20 km's. So you can ride far more than the stated 130 km or suggested 160 km; http://www.rallyalbania.org/ra_12/d_regulats_en.html

@David - Really looking forward to Albania as well. I chickened out with the SE project and treated me to a 530. Tested it in Morocco 2 weeks ago and had a great time. [IMG]
Hopefully Albania will be as nice. See you there!

Great Brodovitch, will be good to meet you there! If you can manage 150km you will be ok. Usually fuel is every 100km, but many stations were without fuel last year, so sometimes I was cutting it very close with my 950 with stock 14l.

Looks great, Died! Make sure the suspension is serviced, or you will get :bash My Berg 570 has done 60 hard hours without service now and will get a complete overhaul front and rear. We will build up our bikes on Sunday and make them ready for the podium. We will leave some room in the top 20 position for you other guys.. :rofl

Soon we'll catch up in the pool bar at Rogner Hotel! :freaky

Thanks for the tip David, hopefully I will be able to make it...

After the disappointment of Evia, I had a long hard philosophical thought of about 30seconds and
    figured what the hell... :lol3

Currently trying to figure out logistics, support & paperwork, but hopefully I will make it to the race, it will be cool to catch up! (and I can get a sneak preview of the awesome minimal rally set-up you guys have made )

    Sounds like a plan

Just got an email confirming my entry looks like there's no turning back now.
    Number 232 it is then...

Anybody have more info on this:
The*Time Transponder*and*GPS Unit*will function with 12 Volt from vehicle battery.

    - One Red/Black cable MUST go from battery poles to the handlebar, (with 30 cm spare),*firmly*connected*directly to the battery and with NO switch or fuse on it's way.*
    - One horizontal flat space (minimum 25mm x 35mm) in the cockpit have to be free for mounting the*Unit*antenna.
-*Time*Transponder Unit*size is (70mm x 50mm x 25mm). It will be mounted on the cockpit or in the handlebar. Please take all the*necessary measures to make this space available, for the*installation*to be as easy as possible.*
    *

I am thinking of getting a few clamps and a flat piece of sheet metal on the handle bar.

Will heavy duty double sided tape or Velcro hold the transponder or should I pack a drill with nuts & bolts?

    Hey guys,
I got no 182, my first contact with rally ever - going to be fun :D

One question to EAO guys - Is there a way to get some kind of support during the race ? bike maintenance after each day etc. I am driving there with a bunch of friends from Poland with our bikes so no transportation is needed. I am just interested in mechanic and service support during the rally. What would be the price for this if its even possible . I was supposed to have a mechanic from Poland but he bailed few days ago.

PS - I ride 09WR450F if that matters.

    thanks in advance

Looks like the regular stress free rally preparations :evil. My road book stopped working 2 days before the shipping of my bike, found out it was a loose wire on the RB motor. Now all is ready for shipping.

Here the large part of Rally Raid Sweden stands in front of a a fully loaded truck before heading to Albania! I am already in Croatia and will drive down to Tirana in a few days, the other 14 riders will fly down.

So looking forward to this, see you there!! :clap

    Wow that looks professional...

our rig is a bit more understated ha ha

Kindly provided by Dimitris who is the co-organizer of Serres Rally, this truck will host us 3 riders + bikes + our support guy Elvis...

Seriously stressing out over the million things left to do before Friday, plus my bike (which now has a new butter-smooth gearbox) is now having carb problems, I think now would be a good time for me to start banging my head on the wall... :lol3

Last resort is to fit a used carb off a 450 SX just for the race and then tackle the problem when I get back again
