congrats on your trip!!
I think I ran into you at a gas station last year in BC. You were on your way up and I just started with my long way down to Ushuaia. I was on a black 1200GSA. Your orange cases are hard to miss. Good luck with your trip. Here is my blog about the trip. I will be following your report as well!
Great Start Alison,
Subscribed, kicked back, feet up, sweets at the ready... can't wait for your RR.
Thinking about heading into Mexico with Feyala this winter for 12-21-2012 at the Mayan temple. but not sure yet, it depends on a lot of things, especially dough!
Have a safe and joyful ride. Just wondering, do you speak Spanish?
Cool, We hosted Hewby from Tasmania 2 weeks ago on her way south through Mexico. It is great to see so many women out there riding.
Just tagging along.
Say, how about a pic of you close-up without your helmet
so we can see who we're riding with.
You are truly n00balicious.
Clicking on her blog in her sig takes you to a link to her SmugMug, which has some shots of her.
Is this your bike?
Thanks for the blog...i'll be looking through that tonight and see where you headed off to!
Nice. I'm looking forward to checking out a couple of those myself.
Not super well. I am hoping two years of high school spanish will come back to me...but that was a while ago, so I am not counting on that. I have been listen to audio in the car, and hoping for learning by osmosis, but realistically, I just signed up for an immersion course in Antigua, Guatemala. (http://www.ixchelschool.com/spanish-courses/spanish-for-travelers.php) I don't have time for the full two weeks due to a boating schedule (more on that later) but am excited about a 1 week program.
I'm running into more and more on the road. It's great... gives it a different flavor.
hahaha...the lure was supposed to last longer...
But the link has been exposed... (was wondering how long that was going to take.)
How cool is that!!! That was the place. I forgot how wet it was that day. Excellent, I will safe this picture.
Once again, enjoy your trip, if you have any questions, I'll be more than happy to help.
I'm already down in Coban, Guatemala (perhaps time for blog/RR). If you stay in Xela (Quetzaltenango) I would suggest Hostal Don Diego, parking for your bike, internet, cheap, and clean. In Antigua I would suggest Posada Vera, which is next to Hotel Primavera, secure parking though no internet. If you can make the time for it, I highly suggest the market in San Fransisco el Alto (Friday) and of course the famous market of Chichicastenango (Sunday). Keep well and enjoy the ride....
You Go Girl!!!!!!
till this trip begins! So looking forward to it.
Thank you for that! I love the tried and true suggestions!
Good Luck Allison on your ADVenture.... I'm subscribed !
Fantastic, Allison...looking forward to following along...thanks for sharing!
