I'm looking for GPS data on the trails in Allegheny National Forest, PA. Along with tracks/routes for dirt road connectors and good back roads. I'd like to make a big loop that connects all the trails, dirt roads and street.

    http://www.fs.fed.us/r9/forests/allegheny/recreation/atv_trails/

Trails are open to bikes and ATVs and a permit is $35 a year.

Rocky Gap ATV Trailhead - located southwest of Warren along SR 3005, also known as Route 337, the Tidioute-Warren Road. Northern section is 11 miles long and Southern section is 10 miles long
    41.7273, -79.2614

Timberline ATV Trailhead - located along Forest Road 232, one mile south of SR 948 and SR 66 intersection. 39 miles long
    41.56312, -78.86407

Marienville ATV Trailhead - located along State Route 66 about 15 miles southwest of Kane and 14.2 mile loop.
    41.57911, -78.93024

Marienville Bike Trailhead - 4 miles north of Marienville on FR 521 across from fire tower. 23 mile trail bike loop.
    41.57911, -78.93024

Willow Creek ATV Trailhead - located along Forest Road 137, approximately 2 miles south of State Road 346, 11 miles west of Bradford.
    41.9629, -78.8477

I thought about adding it to the TPAT (Trans PA trail), but I am already at 800 miles from NJ to MD, and with all the free dirt road riding I was not sure people would want to pay $35.00 to ride through the Fed park.
Plus I am making TPAT big bike frendly. Not sure I want to take my Uly or my buddy on his Wee Strom through the Allegheny Dirt Trails. I feel the Bike needed to ride 200 miles days on TPAT is not the bike you want to ride on Allegheny trails, or vise versa.

The TPAT route on day 3 (if your South bound) comes within 40 miles of Allegheny trails around Lunch Time. (we get Fuel in Saint Marys before heading down the Caladona Pike).

I guess riders could follow the TPAT around 100 miles on Day 3 and jump up to Allegheny and spend a day trail riding if they wanted.

Thanks towpro, I guess I'll be going out to do some recon. Do you have an gps data to share? If so, shoot it over in an email along with the latest TPAT.

I started building a loop through the forest connecting all the trails with the dirt roads. Should be good..

wow, how's Caledonia Pike? looks fairly straight, but ~20 miles of offroad (gravel? what is it) would be fun...

and what's Tornado Alley over there in the west end of it?

We went through that area 5th of july. Snowman laid out the route, we had lunch in Watertown.
That was setup in the camping in PA thread.

Planning a trip over labor day weekend (next weekend). I have created some big loops through most of the park area. If you have others please send. Let me know if you would like what i have created as well.

I know this is an old thread. Here's tracks for the ANF atv and bike trails. It has All of Rocky Gap Loop, All of Marienville loop and some of Tiberline system.
The gas station and general store that is waypointed may not be open anymore. As of last April they were closed for renovations according to their facebook page. It was called the Russel City General store. They also used to sell trail permits there.
