Scrambler would be just fine!
Protein licks for the free range cattle in the area.
Ahhhhhhh, thank you!
Great ride report! BURT and I had a great ride through DV last March. Looks like there is still a lot to see.
Very cool report. I like the video narration. Do you have a mic inside the helmet?
Yup, it's a cheapy little lapel microphone from Amazon! I just attach it in the helmet for the commentary.
Great ride report so far and anxious to see the next part of the trip.
Excellent report. Thank you for sharing. Death Valley is fantastic.
I can't believe that Honda has a rear drum brake. Crazy!
Looks like a great adventure, thanks for sharing!
Great report, makes me want to get back out there again.
Bravo pics and videos!Congrats to ur wonderful trip.Did u camp nearby Owen’s Valley to witness a sunset??
So I apologize for not finishing up this ride report. I've been pretty busy with school and work and just never got around to it! I did, however, finish up the YouTube series. The entire series can be found at this link https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLRolwfDYpw5GpubRX_K9GhwcUZtrODEVR
Wow, I just discovered this report (since your bump brought it up the list) and never dreamed that DV was that beautiful. This Georgia Boy just put DV on my bucket list - thanks for the excellent report!! Greg
i cracked up when your bike shut off right in front of that thing.
NOPE! NOPE! I'M OUTTA HERE! would have been my reaction! haha
good on you for overcoming getting lost and the flat tires. There's something significant about those times.. on my first bigger trip I nearly threw in the towel because of being lostish, not being able to follow my plan, bad weather etc. Phoned a friend who helped get my mind right again and pressed on and had an amazing trip. That experience has stuck with me ever since. Good job! Geat videos and report! Thank you for sharing!
Glad you got around to finishing your RR. Love DV and the surrounding region. Would love to explore it on two wheels one day.
Thank you fricknjim,
Your humor, attitude and hilarious commentary during your awesome video's had me grinning ear to ear several times.
You were having a ball and it was contagious.
I ride a small bike a lot too----it's all you need.
I use to say "it takes 12 horsepower to ride around the world---the rest is wheelspin"
Your story and pictures were like a book you can't put down.
Thanks again !!!!
Hey Jim, great ride report.
I also ride a plated crf230f too. I put a 14 tooth front sprocket on it. What do you run? I'm thinking of dropping the rear down to a 42 to get the same ratio as the Crf230l (3:1) First gear is so low I usually start in second unless on a steep hill in dirt so gearing it up might be fine. Right now mine is happy at 45 to 50 mph but would like to have it happy with 60mph.
Fantastic RR, Jim!
Im hoping to get out there next month for around 5 days, so im scrounging for more info and ideas now. Thank you for the inspiration and ideas!
