Nice. I've always just ridden/driven by Benton Hot Springs. Thanks to your report, I'll have give camping there a try.

Great Job! Dave, I love your photos, they really make me want to pack up and go.

I do have one question though. How do you and your bike stay so shiny and clean?
I just imagine a bunch of interns with compressed air canisters running around spraying you and especially your dash before every shot. :lol3

Looking forward to your next adventure.

Nice ride dave6253. Great pictures! Thank you for sharing.

I was pretty excited to see you took the ridge route into Austin. I remember when I happened along it, I was a little worried to go down that first grade wondering if it would be possible to make it up the next hill. And I was on a KTM 500EXC...

I figured with the route advice from BigWan, you were destined to visit Lamoille Canyon. But then suddenly you were in Jarbidge. You should definitely try to make it up there. Try to include a stop in at Angel Lake campground too. There has to be some fantastic sunrise photos waiting to be made from up there. And the road up there is a treat too. Between Wells and Jarbidge is a cool ghost town called Metropolis. And east of Metropolis is the decrepit dam that was built to supply water to the farming community. Up near the dam is a nice hot spring.

Let me know when you make another visit and I can direct you to some of my favorite places in central to northern NV. Not all of them are on nasty roads.

Thanks @MasterMarine. I remember BigWan credited you for helping with his route. I'm sure I'll be back up there someday and will get in touch.

This was a great read and the pics! Finished the NVBDR last Friday, want to go back and do it again. We had great weather except it was coooooold at night so most of us wimped on camping. Neat to look at your pics and recognize many of my favorite parts and obstacles. There was ice on the pass above Jarbidge (I kept putting in a second r too until we got there) but avoidable. I was riding with 6 determined men who got us all over the Humboldt River crossing with some engineering, muscle and some mighty fine riding (my crossing was less than stellar....:lol3).

I’m still on the road - making my way to the Flying Monkey Rally in Zion, no pics until next week. Anyways, mine don’t come anywhere near those on this thread. But I’ll post some up later, especially the river crossing.
