Once you go to Baja you are addicted or never want to go back.I am addicted. My first trip down was in 1981 working on a pit crew.I have always wanted to ride to Cabo from the border.I own a timeshare in Cabo. I have posted up in the trip planning forum for a riding buddy but no luck. Most people cant go hide for 3 weeks. Not a problem-this lets me ride where I feel like.My check in date was jan25 between 4-7 pm.I allowed 6 days to get there.Rest a week and ride back.If I get hung up drinking beer somewhere no problem. My bike can run highway or dirt fast enough. It takes me a day to get to the border.I hauled my bike to Calexico in my van and parked the van at Portico Storage in Calexico. The night before I parked by the Salton Sea and slept in the van.Got up-drive to Calexico-store van-ride to Baja. From talking to Luis(Portico manager) he stores alot of rider's trucks there. The gate has a key pad and you get get your vehicle back 24/7.After crossing the border I stopped to get my tourist card/visa.This turned out to be a wait while attgat in riding gear. Then off to the bank to pay for it and get some pesos. Then my atm card not working at the first bank I went to.I was getting pissed but stayed calm on the outside. There is a group of banks about 3 miles south of the old border crossing.By about 1:30 pm I got ready to head to San Felipe-on the highway.I feel like making some time.[IMG]

My trusty Honda xr650r before unloading. This is at Kiki's Campground at the north end of town.I liked the campground but the neighbors next door kept hauling their fishing pongas in and out all night.Too noisy. [IMG]

KK just left my house for Moab Utah 10 minutes ago.Its a long story but he needed a little long trip tech support.Back to Baja.Feeling mucho decompressed even after a so-so nights sleep I head south after eating breakfast on the malecon. The first 3 days south I had overcast skies.Hoping it doesnt rain-I didnt bring rain gear.
