I like, had a set and they mysteriously "fell off" when I picked up the bike after an extended stay at a mechanic I used. In any event, I want another set and man,,,,,, Dual Star is a pain in the rear company with decent products. I have called a few times with no answer in the past,,,,, now the number comes back as disconnected when called Why they don't simply set up a way to order on the site is a mystery. Possibly the owner/owners are doing folks a favor by not having a way to order on the site,,,, who knows??? Any ways, who is the manufacturer for these mirrors and is there another company that sells them or something alot like them?

Hey Jud. I seem to BARELY recall something about Ken Sean making them MAYBE. I've got one sitting on a shelf in my garage but all it says it Dual Star on it.

BTW, I've got a relative of yours working for me now, Dexter. He's a good dude and I'm glad I hired him. :thumb

Don't know how easily those mirrors would adapt to my brush/hand guard combo and don't think they are priced out seperatly and neither am I too interested in buying 200$ worth of hand guards and mirrors to put on a raggy 2K$ XR. Really would like to find some dual stars.:1drink

I don't think the HDB mirrors will adapt very easily......and good point about putting expensive guards on an older bike.....

Why don't you try looking into some cheap bicycling mirrors..........I have one I mounted on my handguards and it works pretty good, but I can't remember where I got it???

    Doubletake ?

Not the worlds prettiest, but mine took a bridstrike from a crow at speed, all I had to do was stop and reposition the one that got hit. Taken hits from dangling vines a few times without issues as well - no crashes so far so I don't REALLY know what the survivability is like but a lot harder to kill than normal mirrors at least.

And they're from our own Neduro, who came up with them because he didn't like what was available. He's one of us.

These have stood up to some abuse. Reasonably priced.

Hey,,,,, those just might work if that bar end clamp is large enough to accept a 7/8ths OD. Thanks,,,, think I'll give em a shot.

I didn't exceptionally like the view from the Dual Stars but they never got damaged and I gave em ever opportunity as I fall alot.:lol3 Also,,,, they are damned light, two Dual Stars don't equal one OEM and my XR needs lose ever ounce it can as I uhhhh, I fall alot.:cry:lol3

Those look reall nice but I added up how much it would cost for two mirrors and I was near 100$!:eek1

They may well be nice and they just might be the best compromise betweem visability and survivability but dang,,,,,, there's that "puttin em on a 2K$ XR650 beater" thang again. Good for a KTM SE950 but maybe not for my beater. If I were to spend that much I think I would just get a set of those hand gaurds with the built in mirrors the other guy posted about. More money but at least you're getin a kick ass set of hand guards that look like they'ed be bomb proof. Do appreciate the tip though as I'll keep em in mind if the ebay specials suck donkey balls.:1drink

The ebay specials sorta caught my eye so I did a bit of looking on cycle gear's site and found they carry em too but while looking I found something nice and cheap and if I trim down the stem I think one could mount them under the bar but the 4 inch OD worries me. Think I'll stop by and pick one up to experiment with. If it don't work I'll try the cyle gear version of the ebay bar end special that's already been linked to.

    Here dey is-

And yep,,,, I know, they look like Fido's ass but so does my bike and for that matter,,,,,, so do I so it's keeping the theme!:lol3

    Hmmmmm, also found these-

Has anyone used em? They look sorta flimsy and since they would mount in the same sorta spot as OEM, I'm betting they will be in the way of my regularly sceduled terra firma expeditions. Any reviews:ear

Did you mount them as bar end mirrors, up under like a dual star or did you mount them over the bar in some position?

I mounted them over the bar as I have bar end sliders mounted. I ended up grinding the holder a little bit so I could mount the mirror straight up instead of out to the side. I did originally try mounting them on the inside/underside of the bar, but I did not like having to look down to check other lanes.

I previously have tried the plastic cycle gear ones and they are not very convex so you get a very narrow field of view, and they vibrate a lot.

Ebay stuff is a lot cheaper if you can wait two or three days - the guy i linked to ships them USPS first class mail from CA, so I get them pretty fast.

Still haven't found a mirror I like as much for the money. So,,, please, please,,,, pretty damned please,,,,,,, someone needs to find out how to get these things back into production by someone dammit!!!!

If you do a google search I think you will find that I am far from alone and many folks are looking to buy them again. Hint hint,,,,,, capitalism works. :deal
