When and where?
i'm joining the TA club at the tcn500, why not join us? it will be my first outing with that club and I don't know anyone. Would be nice to meet some inmates from here. The tcn is usually strict with their 'members only' rule but this is not an official clubride. First weekend of october.
Check the Dutch TA Forum for details: http://www.transalpclub.nl/forum/
Unfortunately, the 1st weekend of October is a working weekend for me...
I also think that we, as ADVrider members, should meet seperately and not in joined forces with another club or meeting (despite the fact that I am a member of TCN, and the TCN500 is not an official club activity)
In my modest opinion... Its all about meeting other ADV members - not meeting another club...
A more 'adventurous' location and group would suit me fine as well (even being a wannabee adventurer..). Any suggestions?
Or just some dirt(y) location center of holland (Amsterdam..) on a weekend date that suits and i'll join in.
A Dutch ADV meeting IN The Netherlands would be nice...
A new Dutch member here. ADV meeting in Holland sounds great! Going to keep up with this topic.
Yet another participant for the Dutch ADVrider meet & greet!
Any thoughts about a date? Are we planning to do this in 2013 (season almost over), or 2014?
I'll keep an eye on this thread!

Well, I'm fully booked for 2013, so afa I'm concerned it will have to be 2014. A problem is that is has to be (minimally) organized: the when and where. Just a weekend in Holland or a week in the french Alps? Who's got a proposal? I vote for may 2014 in France.
Whats the point of a DUTCH ADV meeting in France? :huh
Minimalistic but the travel to France would cost me a fortune... Nothing minimalistic to that...
Somewhere 2014 is fine for me. A weekend in April or May is fine too.
Well, I see no point in a meeting without a good ride, or maybe just a small point.
I'll look on the site you mentioned.
Last weekend of april suits everybody?
Hello guys. I may as well introduce myself here as Holland is where I am now living. My travels have taken me from the highlands of Scotland to the flattest country in the world with my 990 ADVr. Would be great to meet up with some of you for a ride, esp offroad...... is that possible in NL?
Just saw an African Twin with an assumed Dutch rider (wasn't near the bike) in downtown Toronto Canada.
If he reads this or someone who is in contact with him and he needs any kind of assistance, don't hesitate to contact me.
Tracks of the TCN500 mentioned by Wim are layed down in the north-eastern parts of The Netherlands and this years Drenthe Allroad in the Drenthe Province. Easy to convert towards the motorschuur as basis.
I consider a good meet & greet not only about tracks. Also to meet new interesting people, share experiences on travel & journeys, etc. Its all part of the game...
I won't be doing any offroading myself due to a old back injury (motorcycle accident... what else... ) but it won't be difficult to put some nice diverse tracks together for every one.
With some help, that is!
Thanks for that two plugs.
Can anyone help with when some of these events are happening? I read that there may be tracks in the Brabant area that can be ridden legally with a motor. Is there a map with them marked out floating around, or even a gps file? Also it is possible around Nijkerk? I am living close to Wijk Bij Durstede and being new to the area I don't want to start by causing more negativity towards motors by riding the restricted tracks by mistake.
You got a PM.
Generaly spoken you can say that (if you know your way around) you can still find several legal gravel / dirt roads open to the public in The Netherlands. Problem is that they are closed down rapidly due to some A*holes who can't behave towards other recreants enjoying those pistes...
Spoiling all the fun for those, who are willing to adjust...
Can anyone recommend a good Husqvarna shop near Rotterdam? I need to buy a couple parts and get some maintenance done I don't have the tools/space for.
According to Husky's website, http://www.jstmotoren.nl and http://www.ariemolenaarmotors.nl look to be the closest shops. Anyone have experience with either of them? I'm happy to go further afield if anyone knows of a better shop as well.
I was once at Arie Molenaar in the time I had a BMW (currently KTM) with a dead battery, they helped me out great and fast. Last week I visited Goedhart Motoren for some clothing and they topped up my bike with oil (for free! Where do you find that these days) while I was trying some clothes.
As far as I know Husqvarna is closely related to KTM and Goedhart motoren is KTM dealer, and close by Rotterdam.
All the best!
