    Hi,

I'm hdpaddy from the delta, aka Rijnmond Area.
    I've owned a '82 Kawasaki Z750 paralleltwin and a '83 Suzuki GS550.
@ the moment i'm saving money for a) a chopper (HD of course) and b) a ADV bike, so i don't ride at all (except on my women :rofl , don't let her hear this as it will be my final ride :huh)

I'm not sure what ADV bike i will buy, i'm in doubt of a XT 660 tenere and a F800GS, also don't know wich bike there's gonna be first, the chopper or the adv.

I came into contact with advrider.com by the thread of "the wrong way round", i've read this thread from beginning to end and was addicted immediately.

Fortunately i'm married with 1 child, so it's hard for me to disappear and discover the world on wheels.

    Hi,

relatively new on this forum (may 2010) and just back from the Alps... with my wife, on two bikes...

I'm located in Sweet Lake City (Zoetermeer) near the Hague, live at the lake there. Basically the flattest part of the country.

At present I have a Yamaha TDM850 from 2000, got in May of this year and used it for a 3 week trip through the Alps (4500 km). Previous bikes were a Triumph Thunderbird and a Kawa Ninja.
My wife got a Suzi SV.
We're planning to buy BMW's next year (F800GS and maybe the new 650 one cylinder that BMW is bringing out next year).

I got to this website after reading some of the books and watching some of the DVD's of Ewan and Charley ( 2 x Long Way...).
We have the virus now too... Planning some stuff for the coming years, long distance ...

    Greetz from Sweet Lake City

PS: the Grizzly stuff comes from our other passion... The Great Oudoors, Kamchatka 2004, hard to get there by bike though...

    Hi guys and gals.
I'm from Australia, and will be coming to Assen in a few weeks time for the Centenial Classic TT. Can anyone recomend a good camping spot ,( tent), close to the track. Prefer to have a bar close by, and maybe public transport to and from the track......:1drink
    Cheers, Boot.

    Hi,

I looked up some TT-campings near Assen and found three: do not know them myself, but you can always mail or phone. The first one is on the premises of the local soccer club I think.... the others are official campings, so to see...
    Good luck,

Although quite a few years ago.... I can vouch for the Asser Boys. They have secured parking for your bike and you just have to find a spot on the playing field to pitch. Don't be late. It sure is crowded. They even have a bar in the club house and serve breakfast. about 20 minutes walk to city centre (one big party) Good memories:freaky

Most of the winters over here are just wet. between 0 and 5 degrees C. But some winters (like the last one) was very cold. Minus 20 and lots of snow for weeks.

The average temperature for October is 12 Celsius (says our national weather service). But you can have nice days or shity days. One thing is for sure you have a high chance to see rain :D But october can have excellent riding days :) its November when things start to get uncomfortable and December,January just suck. February can be oke sometimes it snows sometimes you will see nice spring days. March is nice to ride again :)
